When your phone decides to start surfing the 3 website and downloading the '11 of the latest Chris Brown and Rihanna' songs for $5 a pop. $55 later and a surpise on my bill (yeah, just checked, those songs are actually on my phone... even better 5 downloaded the same song 5 times!), I had to pay it.

You see ladies and gentlemen, this is where touchscreens fail!

With the iPhone, you can only use your finger to use the touchscreen. And even then, there is an option to set a passcode. So it's pretty strange for that to happen :s.

Maybe different for his LG phone.

What really grinds my gears is when stores have Season 2 of a tv show when your looking for season 1. Today i went to Jb Hi Fi, Big W, Ezydvd and Target all of them had season 2 of criminal Minds but no season 1 . Lets just say i could of gone Super sayain 2 i was that fucking angry arghhhh.

At the moment I'm spewing mad.

A few weeks ago some council workers came and started digging around in our street, did a terrible patch job, then left. Now they've come back today, unannounced, and started again. Fine, I can deal with it being noisy at 10am, that's my fault for sleeping that late. What bugs me is that they then came and knocked on the door at about 11 to say they'd be switching the water off in 2 hours time. 20 minutes later the water was off

I'd just managed to get a shower in before that, so all was not lost. Now fast forward to just before 12, and they're digging up the road right in front of my driveway, although on the opposite side of the road. I needed to go out at this time, but I thought I'd let them finish their hole then I'd make a break for it. 10 minutes later I take a look out the window and realise this hole isn't a hole, but a trench rapidly approaching my driveway. I figured I'd have to make a break for it then or have my car trapped here for who knows how long. So I just managed to squeeze past the hole once they moved their digger out of the way.

At no stage before today, or even today, were we told that there would be roadworks going on in the street. We were told of the water being switched off, albeit inaccurately, a mere 20 minutes before it happened (sucks if you'd just put a load of washing on). And certainly at no stage were we told that the entire street would be blocked off, and for certain houses there would be literally no way to get cars out from our properties once they'd started digging.

I can deal with the roadworks, it needs to happen everywhere at some stage, but to not even mention it to give us the chance to park our cars around the corner on another street is rude and flat out incompetent. There's little wonder that the people of NSW are generally filled with utter contempt towards both the local and state government system around here.

Sadly, the reason I had to go out earlier was for cricket training, in the hot sun, and we still have no water on. I also need to take a crap but the toilet won't flush.

As I said, I'm not happy.

Spore, currently.

The fact that I tried to download the patch last night, and not only did it take forever, but it didn't even work, so I had to download it again.

This morning, after downloading the patch again, and waiting forever for it to install, I go and try to play Spore, as you do, thinking pleasantly that all the lag and glitches will be gone thanks to the wonders of patching.

I was so wrong.

I get in to the game, the graphics are lagging worse than ever, so I turn the settings right down to the minimum. No difference. Still lag everywhere. Planet models aren't loading, and the ones that do, occasionally are see through. On top of all this every time I exit a solar system, some sound effect plays ridiculously loud, blotting out everything else with some kind of deafening roar. Naturally, I go into the audio settings, and turn the SFX volume right down. Guess what? No difference.

I try rebooting the game, hoping that it will fix itself up. Nothing is any better, and this time, it crashes and says something about an address error and a whole bunch of numbers. This had happened on a few occasions before patching, so thats what I presumed the patch was aiming to fix.
Mistaken again.

Well, thanks EA for another ruined gaming experience, Spore now seems utterly broken, and I am, as you say, rather ticked off.

Whew. I love this thread.

the fact that i've lost the game disc for Scene It: LCA.

we were cleaning out my Gran's place recently, and had an arseload of crap sitting in the front room to go through and chuck out or keep, and this was where i kept all the party games i have, since we move consoles out there where there's actually room.

i get the feeling the game might've been mistakenly tossed with the rubbish.

now i guess i ask if it's worth grabbing another copy at the EB sale...

EDIT: i was considering making another post in "What Makes You Smile?", but i found it. it had been packed into my Mariokart Wii game box. nfi why, but happy it's not been chucked.
