Yea, I totally agree with the score. If they are going to repeat their mistakes with bugs a second time round they don't deserve a high score.
However I really enjoyed the first one so I bought this one on steam, which is about $20 cheaper than retail. Steam are pretty good on patches so I hope they fix the bugs sometime soon. Until then I might hold off from playing it. _________________

^The weird thing is, the first game has been played through twice on the same machine, and only crashed once. _________________ www.redkingsdream.com

This is a incredible blunder on the part of GSC, I really digged the atmosphere and gritty combat from the first game (a lot actually) but found myself distracted with the bugs/poor performance etc.
I was really hoping Clear Sky would be their opportunity to fix the mistakes of the first game and capitalise on the fantastic ideas they have underneath but.. to hear that it's even buggier..
It really is a massive shame. Better AI, graphics, a new dialogue system and maybe some gameplay tweaks (in particular the RPG elements) and I think STALKER could have become a triple A title. _________________

Kinda weird this is coming out the same time as The Witcher EE as both games are trying to make up for bugs and flaws in the original games which were quite good otherwise. I really enjoyed Stalker but like The Witcher it was the bugs that soured the experience. Fortunately CDProjekt fixed the majority of problems, whereas it seems GSC failed. I will probably pick this up when I hear of some bug fixing patches. _________________

"command.sys"?
I think that proved the point way better than you intended

Nice catch. Can't believe that I wrote that wrong - especially after typing edit config.sys so many times all those years ago.

Comparing Clear Sky and The Witcher EE is a little rich given that one's a rerelease and the other's a new title. I also bought it from Steam but that only prompted me to finally finish Shadow of Chernobyl - runs much better on my 4850 than the old 1950. I'm hoping for a patch too by the sound of things.

I haven't even started the first one yet so by the time I get to this one (already bought it ) it should be all patched up and relatively good to go... unless they do what EA did with the patch for spore and make it far more buggy
