Didn't think this would ever happen - the PS2 port of the GBA Kingdom Hearts game set between 1 and 2 is finally coming out in English.

December for the US. I think a PAL release is pretty much definite because KH2 was such a good seller

Who else will be getting this?

Me, Me, ME!

I loved the first one (after a shaky start) and have been desperate to get started on the second.

So now here is the Big Q, do I wait until Chain of Memories is released and play it before 2? Or will this spoil parts of 2 or lessen meaning of events if they are without context?

December in US, hey? I am so considering buying a NTSC PS2. I don't really know what I need to get that going, but I already have NTSC games that I can't play such as Radiata Stories and I'm really thinking about getting Tales of the Abyss.

^as someone who has played KH2 and then intentionally read through all the spoilers of CoM I suggest to wait 'til december and play them in order.

you will appreciate more things in KH2 if you wait.

ps2 remake or port?

i can't wait for this, and hopefully it'll come out in PAL regions. How much do US$29.99 game usually retail for here? $49.95 or $79.95?

I've got the Japanese version, the game is decent but yeah, it's not quite up to the level of the other two games, the fighting gets super boring after a while. Still I didn't think they would release it here, they should have paired it with Final Mix + though.

Is it THAT bad on GBA that most people will buy the PS2 port, with updated graphics etc etc instead, or is it more the updated stuff that interest's people?

Surely the ps2 version will have the same gameplay though?

I have the GBA version that I've not gotten around to playing yet (other than testing it when I bought it to make sure it worked OK) and I've been holding off playing KH2 I have until I've played through Chain of Memories.

So for me I certainly don't see the point right now in getting the ps2 version unless there is something radically different about it other than graphics.

well for me, getting the ps2 version it'll have updated graphics (probably will be using the same engine that kh2 has) and it does have a higher chance of having more in terms of story/cards/gameplay/easter eggs and of course it'll at least have the same gameplay that the ds version has.

The impending release of this game has made me decide to suck it up and go out and buy a new PS2 sometime in the coming months. I missed out on too many games when I had mine and it's about time I played them.

I could not find the GBA version of this, so i played it at a friends house, got about 3/4 through and loved it!

I don't see what everyones deal with the battle system was, i really liked it!

anyway, definately getting the PAL version of this

so the question for me is when will this game actually be released in Australia.

usually I would say that there is no chance as the ps2 is just about dead (apart from persona 4 yay

still gotta start number 3 FES) but the fact is that this is kingdom hearts so if it does come here is anyone's guess

Just in case anyone is wondering... Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Kingdom Hearts: Re Chain of Memories have never to this day been submitted to the OFLC for ratings approval.
