Bah, I'm sort of in a mini-crisis here. Whilst I really love, and are quite good at acting, the logical side of my brain is trying to make me join the Defence Force. If I do get in to acting, then I won't want to settle for second best. It would be fame or nothing. In that regard I'll probably fail miserably, which is why the Defence Force is drawing my attention.
Not sure which part though... I'm thinking either Army or Navy - that way the Australian government pays for my university fees, they pay me to learn, and I'll have a guaranteed job and qualifications afterward...
Hmm... Looking back on all the things I've wanted to be, I don't see a clear pattern between any of them.
Age 5: Wanted to be a Train Driver
Age 8: ...Computer Programmer
Age 15: ...Actor
Age 16.9: ...Defence Force
Well, enough of my moaning. What do YOU want to do with your life? _________________

I hear the defense force is pretty good, but the army and navy have it pretty hard... but if your tough u should have no problem...
What do you want to get into in the ADF??? Just beeing a soldier or did u want to learn something like science or Intelligence??
If you are only 16.9 your mind is gonna change again and again, y is it a crisis for u now?? Chill Out a bit. _________________ I see Skies are Black, Black Roses Too...

...Because he's currently in his final year of school - time to start working out what you want to do with your life.
Defence force would be good, assuming you could hack the physical aspect.
I personally don't really know. I would like to write in some capacity, IE. print journalism. Possibly a TAFE course and learn some programming. But I really don't want to go to uni. Wouldn't mind a decent retail job either, as long as there's room for promotion.

Making plans for the future, i knew there was something i forgot to do before i finished school...
My current plans amount to something on par with sitting around all day jerking off, i don't have any solid plans for the future, nor do i really care. Be it uni, getting a job of some form, or living on the streets sucking dick for crack money, as long as i manage to get by i'm happy enough with whatever i end up doing.

I just learned that you can get a degree in Game design, so I'm there! (In a few years)
BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to the novel you were writing, Bronze? _________________

If I make it, I want to be an IT graphic designer.
I probably couldn't hack the physical defence forse - hell, I can't even spend 5 minutes in a sauna then take a swim without collapsing from low blood pressure (it happened to me over the weekend).
I wanted to be a computer programmer until I discovered he monotony of the job, as well as how difficult one is to land these days. Of course, game design would be a blast - if I could work my way through the programming phase. You'd have to work damn hard before you get anywhere. _________________

Same here. During high-school I thought that was good job, then I found out you had to be some sort of mathematician and physic's professor to understand any of it.
Now I'm concentrating on becoming a graphic designer. _________________

I want to be a writer.
I'm already halfway through a novel, and I have poetry and short stories. My eventual aim is to do it professionally, but at the moment I'm just looking to finish school and then get to a good university (I'm hoping for either Durham or the London School of Economics) to read history (preferably medieval), then see where I go from there.
The way I see things at the moment, after I finish university I'm willing to do pretty much anything while I keep up the writing, hoping that I'll be able to turn professional at some point. _________________

I tried Programming when I was like 13 but didn't really like it so gave up. The teacher might have had something to do with it, Programmers aren't known for their teaching skills.
Later I tried Web Design and stuck with it for almost 5 years. I don't really have any future plans career-wise, more money would be nice and maybe a few qualifications would be a good idea. _________________

Copycat.
Actually, I tried my hand at web design once, and I'm not bad. It may be tedious, but it's quite enjoyable and pays well (my cousin did this for a short while - he recieved numerous emails from his client because of some minute detail each time he submitted it for review) _________________

Bull.
I was photoshopping the Perfect Dark logo to read 'After Dark' (the rumoured name for the sequel) when I didn't even know photoshop existed! I used paint! And it looked damn good! _________________

Professional soccer player is the big goal. My secondary (or should I say adjacent. No, I shouldn't) goal is becoming a journalist of some sort. _________________ holy shit

Finish degree, get a good job and my ultimate goal is to move away from this Bob-forsaken place and go somewhere else. Like Canada

WOW, i respect that, people i know here (ANU) and @ UOW who do well @ Comp Sci are fully geniouses, theres a lot of hours spent on programming and you can see it in the pay you get after you get your degree.

Cool, i have a met a few of the soccer players at the AIS, are u there?? Or are u still a bit young?? Well i should be hangin around there for a few more years, cause of my gf, so i might see u there.

High School?? I thought you must have been older than that, but u definetly write like a writer, your three quarters of the way there.
Like i have said before im currently in Mechatronic Engineering, but i have a interview with the airforce on the 26th, if all goes well there (and i doubt it will) Ill be transfering to ADFA and doing Aeronautical Engineering.
But apart from that my plan is to design things... i have so many ideas that just need a bit of work.... some prototyping... and then some patenting and i might just make my first million.

Sorry dalla, I'm a Norwegian I, so I won't be seeing much of you.
I'm 17 next month.
Yesterday I played a Norwegian 3rd Division match, by the way. _________________ holy shit

I have a relatively short attention span, meaning I've been writing sporadically and incoherently for the last few months. Not sure if I'll ever let anyone read the unfinished version, and I don't have the time right now to go though the 87 typed pages and fix up spelling, grammar, structure etc. It's basically completed (although I'm not quite sure if I like the unconventional ending), so it might turn up later down the track.
Anyways, back on topic, my parents are pressuring me to join the Defence Force now. I have a Body Mass Index of 28 (ideal is 20-25) so I'm gonna have to start exercising... Nooooo!!!...
I don't know which type of position I'm looking for, so I'm going to check out the websites right now... _________________

I've been designing(well, trying to ) since Photoshop 3. You were probably still in primary school during those days. _________________

Well, let me see... I get my university education paid for by the governent. I get paid to do my paid university course. I get subsidised accommodation. It'll keep me from becoming a fat internet addicted slob. It'll get me out of this crappy little hole of a town that I've been stuck in for the last 8 years. It'll be challenging, but I'll have a guaranteed job. All of my friends are gonna scatter around Australia, and around the world after Year 12, so it's inevitable that I won't see many of them again. And my family... well, I'm an independant person. I can look after myself.
Now, lets compare that to acting.
I have to pay my own way. I want to go to NIDA, which is incredibly hard to get into, and only a miniature minority of people who apply get accepted. I have to be 18 to even apply for NIDA. I'll have to move to Sydney, find accommodation and transportation... Quite simply, it's too difficult for me to do.
I WANT to do acting, but it's just too difficult a profession to get into. And besides, who'd want to see THIS every day? :
