Everyone gets all uptight whenever this happens, "Oh geez i wish he'd make up his mind!" - but would anyone want it any other way? MGS is a success because of this man.. if there was another MGS game i'd certainly want him on board in one way or another, and any fan of the series would agree. _________________

I think he's tired of people just wanting one specific thing from him, he's tired and wants to try and explore new avenues of story telling all together, but since the industry or fans of MGS don't want that, he's probably going to either quit or continue working on a project which i'm sure he's going to end up regretting. _________________

As with anything, you pressure the golden goose too much and things go foul. Lucas anyone?
He might be a great man, but doing more and more MGS games will end up as beating a dead horse. Graphics are no longer going to be the key selling point in games so the games industry is going to find that they either need to revolutionise gameplay, or create new IPs.

provided he maintains that MGS4 was Solid Snake's last outing, i can't wait for a new MG game. _________________

Good comparison there with Hayao Miyazaki. I remember he said that Princess Mononoke would be his last film, yet both of them have had releases this year: MGS4 for Kojima, and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea from Miyazaki.
I wouldn't mind seeing Kojima's name as producer for the next MGS, but I would like to see him branch out into other projects.

Isn't there talk of him making a game with my beloved Suda51? Project S is the codename I think.
