Rock band is a great game. Here's what it cost me:
(All prices in AUD)
Standalone Game + postage from UK: $70
Drums from Ebay US + postage: $110
Logitec Mic: $24
Total = $204
And it is the only game we ever play any more! I absolutely love it... Three mates and a carton or two and this game is worth every cent.
Just avoid the Grateful Dead DLC... It is my only regrettable purchase. |
I wasn't aware importing it could be that cheap. Considering I own 2 guitars already, I'm definetely going to look into this... |
Been there, done that for you. _________________

EA is nothing mroe than a distributer to Australia and are keeping a long distance between themselves and any information about the game. The last time I checked with them the pricing they were handing out for pre-orders was $99 for the game and $199 for the instrument pack.
I'll try and confirm that tomorrow.

That's just great. The sad thing is I will still buy it. Hopefully JB will have a cheaper deal at launch.

Yup, jsut confirmed with EA.
Game is set to be $120 and the instruments are set to be $270. This is obviously subject to change, and they will be announcing the official details soon, but don't expect it to be much different from this.

My neighbour sold me an 89 Barina for $400. It's a great little car and real cheap on petrol, and I haven't had any problems with it. I guess I just got lucky.

XBOX360

PS2/PS3

he says note that everything is sans game (except the game, obviously ).
and apparently stock will be very limited according to the EA rep, whether they meant for WA (which is par for the course) or AU-wide, he doesn't know, but i suppose that means you should preorder if you're keen. _________________

I really hope this idea of separate bundling bites them on the ass.
Hopefully 3rd party controllers that work on both RB and GH will start appearing (I know there a guitars about already, just need some drums)

sorry for digging up an old topic but i just saw this
| Quote: | Australian Rock Band Pricing Confirmed, Still Ball-Busting
Sigh. Big sigh. The EB Games' website pretty much confirms the pricing details we heard about last month. $289.95 for the drum kit, guitar and microphone, $119.95 for the game, $109.95 for one guitar and $169.95 for the drum kit. Which means you'll have to shell out $520 bucks for the complete Rock Band experience. If this number looks familiar, it should - it's exactly the same price NZ gamers will be paying, going by the now-retracted info from Gameplanet.
What's particularly damning is that EB's prices prove Harmonix has absolutely no idea what the hell is going on.
Even taking into account the insane cost and delayed release of the original, you guys are still hot for Rock Band 2, with song, DLC and (for those who imported) instrument compatibility with Rock Band being the sexiest factor.
In a related note, AU IGN is reporting that retailers are not interested in stocking Rock Band, given its pricing, bulk and delayed release, and that Rock Band 2 could share a similar fate. Can't say I'm surprised.
[Thanks to Nick for the EB Games info] |
