So long as it's not pre-rendered, I'm buying a PS3. _________________

They'll live it down if the game is as good as they promised. That's a big call though...
Still, I need a blu-ray player and MGS looks pretty good. _________________

I must be the only one with a PS3 who couldn't care less about this game. It's not doing anything for me.
The color palette is about as bland as it can get and what I've seen of the gameplay looks entirely derivative. Are Guerilla Games even trying to make anything other than a standard FPS? In a post Gear of War/Bioshock world, it's going take a lot more that 'point and shoot' for me to start caring.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt of a game not yet released. Who knows, there's probably a tonne more to the game that they're holding off showing. Something that maybe doesn't looks so grey. _________________

i'm sorry but i gotta disaggree with you there i think grey really suits this game it's played out in Helgan [i think that is what the helgast home world is called]. And the Helgast aren't a very colourful bunch of enemies. Besides there orange eyes. Besides war shouldn't be a colourful thing it isn't a good thing and since grey is a colour that shows that bad things are happening i think it's justified that Guerrila are using a lot of grey in the game. Besides this game looks absoultely stunning in full motion. _________________ Dragonforce's new album Ultra Beatdown out August 27th.

I'm sorry but I agree with him. Honestly, I have no idea why people are so excited by this game. The entire hype is biased around a video displaying *what* the PS3 apparently could do. Like apparently the N64 was going to generate T2 quality graphics.
IMO we'll have two Gears games before this hits which most likely will look just as good and set in *similar* colour palette. The different being Gears 1 v Killzone 1 is a big difference is gameplay quality.
It looks OK sure, but it's only hyped because most Sony boys are dying for something to offset the PS3 from the rest of the generation. _________________ Shin J Leon.

If boring art design is explained by the plot, then they should have thought of a better plot.
The most interesting thing about the art design of Killzone is the badguys with the gasmasks and red eys, and so they should be since they were stolen shamelessly from Jin Roh

^That's what they are supposed to be. Cannot wait for Killzone 2, all the gameplay videos coming out of E3 are looking great. And the multiplayer looks like a Team Fortress style of gameplay, which is awesome _________________

But you can play Team Fortress now?
I honestly believe that Resistance 2 will end up being a better game from what I've seen. Quote me on that. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Yes, but it is possible to have more than one game using the same core mechanics and still have great games. Everything I have read coming out of E3 is Killzone 2 is looking great, and there is reason to be excited.
Anyway, I think there are many things about Killzone 2 multiplayer that look to make it a unique experience. I mean, multiplayer just looks amazing from the media below.
Just everything I see from Killzone 2 multiplayer makes me very excited for February 09. I'm sure Resistance 2 will be a great game, but I'm personally more excited for Killzone 2. But to each their own. _________________

I get that the use of grey is a deliberate artistic decision and that Guerrilla have their reasons for using it but that doesn't really change my opinion. Every screen shot I see remains entirely unappealing, regardless of their design philosophy.
I also get that it looks amazingly good in motion, but like I said before, nothing about what I've seen or heard is telling me that Killzone 2 will be anything other than a standard FPS experience. I personally won't settle for that anymore, visuals be damned. _________________

^ Potential. That's the key word. Just like many other games like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars have potential, it could flop.
This is definitely my most anticipated PS3 game since..well, launch really. I'm a big fan of the Killzone universe. Certainly hoping it turns out as good as some of the previews are saying. _________________

enemy territory was just a lazy port while Killzone 2 is built for the PS3. _________________ Dragonforce's new album Ultra Beatdown out August 27th.

While Halo 3 was built for the Xbox 360, so clearly all games on all other platforms are included in your comparison then. Killzone 2 is going to try to knock of Counter-Strike/Source and Team Fortress 2 is it?

i'm not sure if the developers are aiming to knock any other games off their perch. _________________ Dragonforce's new album Ultra Beatdown out August 27th.

I meant in the context of the game overall, meaning PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It was still quite good, but it didn't quite live up to the lofty standards it set for itself.
But like I said, I'm very excited in this game, and am confident Guerrilla will nail it this time, considering the positivity. _________________

yeah in my opinion Enemy Territiory Quake Wars would of only been a good game on the PC since it was built for that platform. _________________ Dragonforce's new album Ultra Beatdown out August 27th.
