Dr Who has started again airing on sundays 7.30 on abc1!
Many things are being explained, like the past history of many of the aliens encountered before like the ood. I'm looking forwards to another dalek episode. Its weird how its on sundays now. Too used to it being on saturdays, which i thought was a better day.
I didnt want to bump the old thread so started a new topic. _________________

I've only just really started getting into it this season, and fuck yes it's easily one of my fave shows. I'm going back and buying all the dvds of the new seasons now. _________________

The show used to be awesome, mainly from Doctors 2-5 (especially Pertwee). The 2005/relaunched series started off okay, but got worse and worse, and then worse and worse and worse. I gave up on it after last year's mindblowingly terrible finale. Once Russell T. Davies finishes writing such garbage and steps down (which will be after next year), and they get rid of Catherine Tate, I'll consider watching again.

Finally, a Doctor Who Thread.
Personally I think you can't go past Tom Baker for the best Doctor Who, but the recent episodes haven't been too bad. The last couple have had rather shallow, boring storylines, so I hope when they start digging into the season there'll be a bit more complexity, perhaps some carry-over episodes.
While watching tonight's episode, I realised some recurring statement that the Doctor and Donna have been saying in each episode, but now its slipped my mind. Can anyone remind me?
I've also realised lately that the Doctor hasn't been practicing any of his Venusian martial arts skills, y'know, he always used to be chopping henchmen of some sort and knocking them over. Can't wait for the Sontarans next week, want to see if they still have the little plugs in the back of their necks which you jam something into and kill them.
And for those who've seen all this season already, remember to warn us for spoilers. _________________

You're both wrong, Sylvester Mccoy is the best one.
Oh, and i'm hoping for a Davros return this season. Davros ftw. _________________

i reckon the one today was quite good. Its going back to the history of the aliens, the ones encountered in previous episodes. Personally, the best episodes were the ones with daleks inside, especially watching those iron men shoot at the millions of daleks in the sky. _________________

I liked her in the Christmas special, but over the rest of the season I just wanted to push her out of the Tardis.

Steven Moffat is taking over show-running duties for the next season (which will be in 2010, 2009 will bring us four RTD TV-movies), and he in fact turned down a $2 million offer from Spielberg to pen two of the Tintin movies to do it. I think that alone shows we've got the right man for the job on the way. _________________

That and Blink show that he's the right guy.

Really? I absolutely hated her in the Christmas ep, she acts like the total twat like she usually does in her other shows. But during the actual season, she is much better. By the end of the season, I accepted her. She got her act together from the get go, really.
Unless you like the annoying Katherine Tate? _________________

That's what I can't work out! A lot of people said they hated her in the Christmas special, but then over the season it's their favourite companion of the new series, but for me it's the exact opposite.
I think she get's a lot more annoying over the season maybe? Or maybe because it's the same thing week in week out? 'Look at me I'm a loud english woman' or maybe, just maybe I'm a bit weird?

Is this the first time you have seen Katherine Tate act? Because if you have seen her in other shows, you can see how much better she acts during Dr Who. _________________
