haha, yeah i saw that the other week, i meant to post about it actually.
it's something like 3000 pieces, and more amazingly (imo) is that a lot of it are pieces that already existed. aside from the helmets and astromechs (ie: R2-D2) there aren't many pieces custom made for the Star Wars universes.
you mean this one that retails for almost $1000 australian. i told my girlfriend that i was going to buy it if i got a payrise from my other job, but i ended up leaving that job so it was a bit out of the budget at the time.
•With over 5,000 pieces, this is the biggest LEGO set ever made!
•Model is built completely to minifigure scale - minifigures can sit inside and man the controls!
•Landing gear provides a stable base for model to stand on!
•Ship is over 33" long, 22" wide and 8" tall! (84cm long x 56cm wide x 21cm tall)
Lego is too bloody awesome for words, all I can say is that hours can melt away with this baby.
My sister once made a big ship, and a bulldog (In the football colours of course XD). Man I wish I could get some pics, but she got rid of the lego and made new ones :[
i promised myself that i was going to rebuild all my lego just one last time and take photos of the whole set. My parents have held onto all of it and it is all bagged according to colour and all instruction manuals are there too. maybe thats a job for me over xmas. _________________ check it
^ yeah same, although it's like 3 50L buckets full of blocks.
i always wanted to get some method of sorting by colour/shape. always struck me as a good idea when i saw Ben (and his brothers)'s collection the first time. i just never had the patience or craftsmanship to create the boxes they had.
back when it was REAL lego, of course. none of this poxy Bionicle/Slizer/Roboriders rubbish.
real lego is blocky, and should cut your feet if you stand on it barefoot. _________________ My Play-Asia Affiliate Link.
my parents where pretty strict about the lego we got. we never got knights or space lego, it was always the town sets, although when the pirate lego first came out, they bought us the entire first series except for the pirate ship.
we had all the streets etc and there was enough to fill a decent sized dining table with a town that was fully populated, it used to be the regular school holiday thing to do. build it all in the first week and put it away on the final weekend. _________________ check it
I knew a guy who got a job as a lego engineer, said it was the best job you could hope for. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill
But where's the strategically placed hole for a red light.. I mean photon torpedo to fit in and drop down into a central chamber which then EXPLODES THE LEGO STAR OF DEATH INTO GOO?
I remember back in the mid '80s there was a big lego exhibit in the city as part of the then annual toy fair and my fathers company was involved in the transport of the lego. After the toy fair they were just going to throw it all out so he got one of the city scapes for me which had a heap of buildings and cars on those road pieces. The only problem it was all glued together so I just jad to stare at it while it took over 1/4 of my room. I was in awe when I first got it but then annoyed when I couldn't take the pieces apart
I ended up breaking some bits off but it wasn't the same, about 2 years later I finally had had enough and it was thrown in the big bin in the factory across the road from my house at the time. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

I love Lego and been buying a LOT of sets over the past 3 years. That mini-fig Death Star playset is awesome! It's gonna be $400. Was contemplating on budgetting for that Mill Falcon but it's just way too expensive and too big.
My favorites so far:
- Exo-Force
- Castle (Orcs)
- all Creator sets
- any Truck Lego
Looking forward to the Agents line and a few others. Oh gosh for any of your sake do not get into Lego (or Transformers). It's plastic crack. Costly but oh so good addiction. _________________

Man i use to use lego heaps as a kid. My nan use to buy it for me every birthday and christmas. I loved putting them together. The funny thing was i was in a toy shop last week and i was in the lego section, thinking man i gotta get some new lego. But there wasn't anything good there.
I remember being 8 and going to Hong Kong on a holiday with my mother
There was so many Lego sets i hadnt seen before and came back to Australia with at least 3 sets now thats memorable, Although haven't touched them in years too scared my dog might find one and choke
My friend made a LEGO computer case now thats pretty cool ^^
I remember at my old house, it was so big that I had my own Lego room. I could spend hours in there making things. It was impossible to walk in there without stepping on some bricks.
I remember before be old enough to NOT choke on LEGO, I was busting out DUPLO. I had the DUPLO and LEGO train set. And then from there, I moved up to TECHNIC. So many memories... ahhhhh. _________________
