No release date though. We already knew God of War III existed, it was just a question of when, which I guess was sort of answered - not this financial year. MAG looked very impressive, no gameplay though.

So Sony's getting in on the MMOs with DCU and MAG. How 'bout Monster Hunter?

No no no, you've got it wrong. He didn't say it would be out this financial year, he said it wouldn't be out before the holiday season. Or at least I think that's what he said.

Yes but they gave release dates as far away as Spring 2009. If they intended it to be during or before Spring (Autumn for us) I think they would have mentioned that.

MGA: 256 Players? Welcome to lag hell and an imbalanced game icon_sad.gif

Also annoyed at that use of CGI in a fair few games, meaning that the titles aren't ready to be shown, hence we won't be playing them for a while.

Great conference. Too bad about GoWIII's CG premiere but it did the job.

There was a lot there to get excited about. MAG for one thing has incredible potential and strangely enough, that LBP inspired stat presentation has finally sold me on the concept. It actually made graphs entertaining. That's huge!

Good job to Sony. That was worth staying up for.

Alright and I'm done. That was difficult at this time of night. 2 nights in a row of sleeplesness. And my sister woke up and was surprised to see me still on my computer.

Oh and Stardust Portable made my day.

I'm waiting to see how my family will react when they get up in an hour and realise that I stayed up all night.

They get used to it if you've done a lot (/damn uni assignments). Oh and telling them that you'll actually be staying up helps too icon_razz.gif

Ah I'm still on holidays so it doesn't really matter how late I stay up. Although I doubt my girlfriend will be quite so forgiving. Eep!

That conference sucked as well, like the Nintendo one.

Year of the Playstation 3? Please, they'll need more then they showed here today if that will be the case.

I wonder if the *new* 80 gig PS3 will be backwards compat.

Overall I would say MS had the best conference.

Those people still undecided whether to get a 360 or a PS3, really didnt get much reason from Sony to choose a PS3 over the much cheaper 360 which like the PS3 can act as a home entertainment hub.

The highlight of the show was the GOW3 announcement. A game we all knew was coming anyway.

Sony say he knew 80GB PS3 will have the same functionality as the 40GB, so we can assume most likely no BC.

Those who will buy a PS3 instead of a 360 will be because of brand loyality IMO.

I would have to agree with that, it seems though all companies haven't really taken huge risks with this E3.

The one and only reason Microsoft had a better conference was the Final Fantasy XIII announcement.
Still it was pretty good by Sony.

I think the games on show looked better then Sony's offerings. I was really dissapointed with their on show, nothing really *exciting* came out of it.

Hopefully they'll have something in store for us down the track.

Unfortunately Sony didnt match that with their own big announcement.

Microsoft 1, Sony 0.

I don't get it. Why can't Sony or Nintendo have one big announcement? Sony didn't announce anything to make people freak out. Yeah God of War 3 will totally kick ass but... not until the Christmas after next and it's not even a surprise. MAG looks cool but not exactly wet your pants material. I just wish these companies had more of an idea that people want surprises - this is their chance to just go 'got ya!' and they didn't do this at all.

Personally I found this the most enjoyable out of the three conference's. Not in the amount of new information, but just the way the information was presented.
Everything just worked well from the montages (which Microsoft seemed to skip this year) to the Little big planet statistics brief.

If we were going on new information released Microsoft would take the cake. But personally I thought Sony did an amazing job on presenting. Now hurry up and put Backwards compatibility back into your system so I can buy one.

I take it Australia isn't getting a video store.

I looked online this AM and there was a whole two E3 videos on the PAL store. Pretty sad really.

God of War and Little Big Planet were massive yays. The rest of the presentation was pretty meh. The other stuff didn’t really sell me or appeal to me. M.A.G has great promise but let see how well its executed.

it seems like it doesnt.

By entering at 80GB, it confirms any lingering doubts that the existing 80GB model - the one with backwards compatibility (which this console, with all the "features and functionality of the 40GB model", doesn't appear to feature

to be honest the BC in the AUS released 60gb ps3 was lame at best, i had one and i hated playing my ps2 games on it. it made them look ugly. most of you prob have a ps2 anyway so why does it matter so much...? just keep your ps2 icon_biggrin.gif

at least the ps2 can play all of my ps1 games whereas my ps3 couldnt play FFVIII...at least it looks like it will be the same price and maybe some reduction in price of the 40gb will be a good thing for people to pick up. assuming we are even getting the 80gb.
