yeah im gonna try and stay up.. but by 12:30 im drifting off and 1:30 is usualy the time i just cant take it anymore and fall asleep.

It's not over yet but that was fucking pathetic. The new dash shit made me implode with frustration, when they showed the new friends 'list', I wanted to sell my 360.

Avatars? Ripoff of Miis. Lips? Plagiarism of Singstar. In the Movies? Xbox Eyetoy. Scene It? Buzz.

Where was Alan Wake? There was nothing in the conference that made happy, instead I just feel like .. as I was typing this, Square started the FFXIII trailer..

So as a wrap up..
Good things:
FFXIII
Fable 2 looks pretty good

Bad things:
No Alan Wake
Avatars look positively awful
New Live interface looks horrible
Lips and In the Movies are blatant ripoffs that casual gamers will recognise as such
Nothing on Games for Windows
No Alan Wake

The door is well and truly open for Sony and Nintendo now. BL to Sony for losing FFXIII though.

Yeah pretty disapointing tbh. No big game announcements, most of the conference was showing their new party games. Biggest game announcement was FF13, but personally not a big deal as I have PS3 anyway. I wanted some big exclusives!

GOW2, Fable2, Fallout3, RE5 all looked great, but we knew that already.

Yeah, but FFXIII is a BIG deal. I thought it was typical M$ arrogance before when they said they will sell more consoles than the PS3, but now that they've got FXIII they might be right. I didn't think Fable 2 looked like much more than the first one with co-op.

I think it is still timed exclusive on PS3, they didn't say anything about a simultaneous release, unless I missed it.

It wasn't as terrible as I thought it'd be.

I personally thought the updated dash and avatars was a pretty cool addition. I'm not really bothered by companies ripping stuff off of each other so I don't really have that working against me. I guess I'm fortunate that way. So long as the imitation adds something worthwhile, I'm all for it. I guess time will tell whether the revamp will actually turn out to be more than a 'me too' measure, but I honestly think it holds promise.

And 'bleh' at FFXIII going multiplatform. I wonder if the PS3 version will suffer at all because of it? Fingers crossed that concessions won't be made. I want the benefits of blu-ray!

Overall, I was pretty happy with Microsoft's showing. It certainly did enough to get me excited about the console again, which has admittedly had much of it's thunder stolen by my PS3 purchase. I guess it's now up to Sony to wow me back into submission. Kratos awaits...

One thing that didnt make sense to me is why the RE5 release date announced at the MS press conference when its not an MS game or 360 exclusive.

But Sony have really taken a big hit with FF13 going to the 360. It was one of the major reasons for getting a PS3 over a 360.

Sony really have to make a major announcement tomorrow to recover from this big blow.

Well I read that GT5 most likely won't be out till 2010. If not for God of War III or something else big, the PS3 may remain a distant #3 for a while.

Also, I do believe it was mentioned Fallout 3 would have downloadable content and it would only be on Xbox 360. Anyone think M$ paid for this one ala GTA4? Not that I'm complaining.

Just read the summary. Pretty disappointing. The only good thing mentioned was RE5 Co-Op. Everything else I have no interest in.

Pretty happy with M$ conference. I like where they are going as it's been all quiet of late. I'm glad they didn't annouce a stupid motion controlled app either. I'm very excited by the next update and the updates for all their games are excellent annoucing awesome stuff (5x co-op gears2, RE5 co-op, October release for Fable 2 etc).

The FFXIII is a giant punch in the guys for Sony before their conference tomorrow. I can't think of anything better then stealing Sony's crown jewel 3rd party game in terms of console war.
