As I'm sure that many of you have all noticed, lots of the new users who have registered here don't not really know who is an admin, moderator, or normal user. I've seen loads of other sites using rank images. Here are just some from a set of images available at the phpbb website.
Those are just a few of them, but if PALGN had their own set of those but with a PALGN 'star' instead of the other star in them, I think that they would be great . This would definately help the new users know who has the power.

I'm all for that as well, although they should have spesific colors or images for every rank, so that it would be clearer who's who - that a person would instantly see what kind of forumer he/she was dealing with without having to actually read the rank.
On IGN the mods have colors which makes them stand out, here everybody can have colors, so we need something else that makes the mods/staff/admins stand out from the rest.

Yeah, I've been meaning to add them actually, we've just been too busy with other stuff. I'll pass this on to sonic to see if he can come up with something.
Do you think the rank names need changing, too? I don't really like them.

well heres an idea for ya sonic...why dont we simply have some sort of stars or something to show how many times we hae posted, sorta like IGN but this is better then ign so we will change it somehow, i hope you get what im saying

But what's to stop people from voting against someone if they don't like them or getting other users to gang up against one person to give them negative votes? _________________

Nah, seriously, you could make it that you can only vote for users once a week. Therefor also supporting long term members.

How about voting once FULLSTOP. It will make you think about throwing away your precious vote, and make get to know the person better. All, voting should NOT be annonymus, so people will think before stating thier opinion on someone. _________________
