I had a 1000th milestone, didn't do a 2000 but am planning to do a 3000 one. I had planned to completely change my username on my 3000th, but I decided not to and mildly changed it now. But I hope my 3000th is a little different *hint hint*
Won't do one another after until maybe 5555 or if I make it 10 000 _________________

The difficulty i see is through inconsistency how can you define one thing as being unuseful thereby spam and many popular threads as useful thereby not spam. Waaaayyy ahead of you.
Can't expect too much maturity though....this is a video game forum. _________________

Depends on the poster I guess. I did a 2k and then a 4k. Which I think was about 1.5-2 year gap.
I have a problem with it if somebodies bangs them out every 1000 posts espically when they are a regular. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I've had more of an issue with it since the plus/neg system came about. I thinks its made milestone threads more appealing for the poster. then again, its just been the timing of the milestones which has made them seem an epidemic.
+'ed for love, DIU.

i think the milestones are a bit of a good thing to give recognition to people that would sometimes go unnoticed. i have noticed in a few threads that i got a special mention from people i would have never thought noticed me in these forums at all. its almost like a schoolyard in here sometimes with little groups of people who have favourite posts and threads its a hoot.
and i think the good people who put effort into and are genuine about their milestone give all the plusses back to the people that give recognition anyway. _________________

All milestone threads should have been banished from middle earth after gizmo's.
The bar was sent into heavens with that one and made us mere mortals fall to our knee's as the wind howled and the blinding blizzards lashed our flabby bodies with searing hail and rain-with each clap of thunder coinciding with our own howling, primal curses falling on the deaf ears of fallen angels, of the one who created one milestone thread to rule them all. _________________

i think there have been some great milestones after mine, i just photoshopped people, other people have actually taken the time to recognise people individually for the great contributions they have made.
im not getting in the middle of the jibbs vs benza titlefight because i have all the time in the world for jibbs and i sit uner 2m from benza at work and have a great time there too. hmmmm _________________

I know this is fairly different, but considering some people have milestones more often than they have birthdays (we have a birthday thread, no one makes their own) maybe SOME milestones could go all in one thread, but then if someone thinks their milestone is special for one reason or another (and has thought things through properly, or maybe checked with mods) just make their own thread anyway. Alternatively we could have a recognition thread where you can randomly shout out how cool people are or the community as a whole, but I can't imagine where that thread would go after the first post. _________________

I only ever did my original 1k milestone (long time ago but some will remember) because back then, milestone threads were the norm at another forum I attended and I just thought it would be good to do the same here.
Then I did 3k, which was my excuse to express some gratitude towards the site and community. I did the same for 5k, but 5k was also done because it was a milestone to me (of sorts) in the sense that, I never thought I would get to it.
Now though, no milestones from me. Why? I really can't be arsed. That's why I skipped my recent 6k and will continue to skip the future ones. I may do one for 10k, but that's too far off for me to know at the moment and besides, I have pretty much thanked everyone that I would here anyway. The people I get along with know who they are and it's as simple as that, really. _________________

To be perfectly honest I believe there needs to be an unwritten rule made among users to only celebrate milestones when they've achieved either 1000 posts, 5000 posts or 10K. If we keep getting duplicates it just ruins the point IMO. _________________

Using my special-super-happy-1000th post to say that I too get a little irritated with the frequency in which some people create Milestone Threads.
I honestly don't care if people celebrate each of their 1000 posts, if there is a little (read: a lot of) time between them.
Disclaimer: There will be no 1000 post Milestone Extravaganza from me, unless I can somehow bribe Gooberman to make one for me. _________________

When I reach my 1000 post milestone in seven or eight years time, I believe I will start my own thread about it - but no thank you lists or hugs and kisses, I'd rather do something completely different. I'm still thinking what that may be, but it may involve salsa somehow. _________________

I'm going to do a 4k milestone, but I have something creative in mind for that.
And I want spoons so I can get a new $poon game challenge going. The Icy Tower one was a great success! _________________

Am I the only person surprised that Charly only now reached 1000 posts. I always felt you were more frequent than that.
