Hi,
I replaced my batteries in my remote today (i'm using rechargeable sanyo eneloop batts).
When i put in a fresh pair, the wii-mote started vibrating and wouldn't stop. Even after going to the wii-mote menu settings and turning it off, it just keeps vibrating continuosly.
Everything else seems to be fine, as in pointing, etc, but it's like a mobile phone that won't stop vibrating.
Any one experienced this problem before? I bought my wii in January this year (2007).

Have you tried different batteries? probably not the cause, but you never know.
On to my question, I want to get my Wii online and I dont really want to piss fart around with all this wireless junk, so im going with the ethernet adapter. Question is, do I HAVE to use the nintendo brand adapter, or can I just go out and buy a normal usb to RJ-45 plug?

Just wondering, i've gone and bought some gamecube controls to play some gamecube games (duh). Question is, when I go to save while playing a gamecube game, does it save it on the Wii's internal memory or do I have to buy a memory card?

I recently put a Nintendo Wii on Layby at work.
My question is on the features. To my knowledge, the console cannot play DVD movies. However, as I was browsing Ebay today I saw this item for sale:

In the "Additional Information about Nintendo Wiiâ„¢ Console" section (Down the bottom part) which is provided by Ebay, it states: "DVD Movie Playback Optional DVD Movie Playback"
So, my question is, can the console play DVD movies?
Could it not be a feature at the moment, but a future firmware update would change this?

OK, I have a bit of a problem. I have two home theatres systems at my house, downstairs is a Bose system, which we also have all the high quality equipment down there, so all I have to do is plug my Wii straight into the TV and I will have surround sound.
Where as on my upstairs TV, it isn't the same case. I have the following upstairs
1. Foxtel Digital Boxset
2. Sony Amplifier
3. NEC VCR
4. Pioneer DVD
5. Acer LCD TV
Now the problem is, the way it is all hooked up I am unable to get surround sound from the Wii.
I am using one of those premium component cables, which I just plug into the TV. I tried setting it up like the downstairs system is setup, but the Bose amplifier is just much more superior to the Sony amplifier.
If anyone has any suggestion on how to setup, because for the life of me I can't work it out. I guess if the TV had some sort of audio out put it would be much easier, but it doesn't it only contains.
2 Scart Plugs
1 Component In
1 PC Audio In
1 VGA In

I have a problem with connecting my Wii to the Internet, as well as my DS now too.
I recently changed ISP's (from AAPT to Soul, AAPT kept having problems with billing and such). I use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Dongle.
I now have an ADSL Modem broadband connection with no router. (PPPoA VC-Mux).
So I am trying to connect my Wii to the Internet and it keeps failing on the test connection. I went on the Nintendo support website and read that some ISP's arent compatible with the Wii.
I then tried to connect my DS to the internet and it doesnt work either, when it used to with AAPT and has never failed to connect before.
I am worried though because my DS and Wii both connect to the dongle, but not to the server. I am in a 2 year contract with Soul (My dad's choice btw) and I may not be play online anymore.
Please someone help me

Hi
I'm currently having a problem with my Wii, in that it turns it self on (LED goes green) and goes to the main menu page.
I don't have the internet connection for the Wii, nor it has been set up. I don't think it's the Wii motes, but I'm going to take the batteries out just in case.
It has started to happen the past couple of days. Has anyone else experience the same problem. Is there a solution.
Any help will be appreciated.

It is basically, except you can't play GC games with a Classic Controller.
You can use a GC controller to play certain Wii games and VC games.
EDIT: and of course GC games..

Thanks boom. The reason he needs it is because he has a game that has a heap of classic on it. And the guy he got it from said you need a game cube controler to play it. I said there is a wii one but im not sure if it was the same. I will let him know. thanks again Boom.

I was thinking about having a massive brawl tournament with my friends when it comes out, but i have a few questions.
- I don't have my Wii connected to any network, and was wondering if two wii consoles connected together to form it's own LAN would work to have a LAN tournament. Or does Brawl require internet access?
-And if so, can two wii's connect wirelessly together to form a WLAN?

I think you'll need an internet connection for Brawl RWS.
I'm not sure if two Wii's can connect wirelessly though.
Probably need an internet connection for that too.
EDIT: You shouldn't have a problem connecting more
than one Wii to the same wireless router by the way.

But that sucks that you need the internet to play more than one wii together

the gamecube had the LAN capabilities... it was too bad it never really picked up
and i have friends with wireless routers, however im the only one with the physical space and the widescreen and overall cinematics to make a good night of it.
I suppose that brings me to my next question:
Q. Does using Wii online use up alot of internet usage? Because im on a download quota

^ Apparently not according to my expert girlfriend.
When you invite your mates over for the tourney, just get one of
them to bring a Router, their Wii's and a bag of chips and/or beer depending on age.
Don't forget that 4 people can play on one Wii.

you can probably use the nintendo wifi usb connector. it lets your wii connect to the net and can handle a few connections at a time.
