Yep, was just thinking about that..and i wanted to order it off playasia too  . but since it will be locked..
So it looks like i am completely stuffed and will have to get a standard edition..either from playasia or JB if i find another PS3 games less than $40 to trade in..

DLC is always region locked. The game Isn't, but the bonus material disc that comes with it will be.

How's this I pre-ordered from EB the limited Edition, confirmed with the guy and I rang this week to confirm again, and I was told it was recorded as the standard edition, these guys suck...
EB can kiss my ass, I'm never buying from there again.....

That's quite true. Not because of the customer, but due to game staff accepting the pre-order. Two months before the release date of Metal Gear Solid 4, all game staff at JB Hi-Fi were ordered to stop taking orders for the limited edition of the game. All through the month of May, pre-orders continued to be inputted into the system.
Customers who pre-ordered the limited edition version of Metal Gear Solid 4, before the cut off date will get receive their copy. I know my customer will as I know how to read memos.

Hmm, I guess it was just an idiot mistake by EB, then... Definitely should complain. Get there early to make sure there actually is a copy that you might be able to argue for.

I work at JB doncaster so it may have indeed been me that you saw. I can confirm that we are getting stock of the L.E on thursday (2 or 3 copies if i recall and no staff members have preordered it).
Pretty sure we only took 2 pre orders but as previously mentioned we were sent numerous memo's from head office informing us about stock shortage from the distributor. So there is no conspiracy for people to be worried about - it merely is a stuff up from atari.

No worries at all. We also have a bunch of extra MGS dvds to give away for the first 40 or so people to pick up their copy, hopefully the guys in the morning have them ready to go.
And as mentioned, if you're in after 1 ask for steve - if you cant wait till then - enjoy MGS woot!!!

Just picked mine up - $170 for the limited edition! Insane! I begrudgingly handed over my cash. For some reason my Snake figurine is missing his knife though.
EDIT: I found the knife, it had just fallen out of its place in the box.
And in hindsight, $170 isn't that bad considering you get a quality figurine, a blu-ray Making Of and a soundtrack disc. But then again, $120 for a game is ridiculous. Oh well.

I just picked up my standard edition at JB. I pre-ordered and it didn't have a Saga 2.0 disc. I said to the annoying 'drip' of a chick where is disc? And she said they didn't get enough to fill the pre-orders. I had a look at the pile and they only had about 10 'pre-orders'.
So annoyed by all of this. And $170 for the limited? Holy crap, I really don't think that's worth the money. A bonus music/dvd and a figure? You can almost buy two copies of the game for that at JB.
Also, what is with the shitty cardboard around the case? I hate that cause they get all fraded over time.
Oh well, at least the game should be good.

My swag. Standard edition + smexy poster + metal gear saga vol 2 which I didnt even think EB was offering, so that was a nice surprise (don't kill me Leon J, please) all for Big Ws convenient(er) price of $94.98.
Sorry about the below shocking quality of the pics, my phone's camera is crap and my sister took the digital camera on holidays.

EB didn't give me a saga 2.0 disk. should have asked, then i'd have been able to give it away here.
Picked up my LE and poster at EB at 9 on the dot. Then picked up some snacks for the days.
a little over 2 hours in at the moment, and loving it.
