I just lost to Passa...
A mis-prediction on my part was my downfall (and before that a bad switch-in), very close match once again
EDIT: i just realized something, Macka what happened to that whole idea of 'if you lose you still get 2 points' compared to 'a win gaining 3 points' in the leaderboard thingo? _________________

That was EPIC, best battle I've had in my close to 10 years of playing Pokemon. It was very close and there were a few mistakes by both parties, but a few critical hits got on my side and I pulled through. _________________

I was online all day Saturday, and then 'till around 6 tonight. I was waiting for you to PM me at 5 yesterday, both your time and mine. Sorry. ):
Uh, I should be free tomorrow night? I'm not sure exactly when I'll be on, as I'll be in the city all day. I doubt I'll be back later than 5 though... which is 3 over your side right?

You caught me again. I completely forgot about it and remembered a few days ago. I was planning on waiting until I made the round 3 match-ups before I processed the scores.
I'm making the match-ups now btw _________________

Don't get excited mcerto, I've just finished the updated scores to reflect that a loss gains TWO points.
Macka – 9 + 9 = 18
Jibbs – 9 + 9 = 18
Mcerto – 9 + 8 = 17
Dare – 9 + 7 = 16
Waka – 7 + 8 = 15
Plazma – 6 + 6 = 12
Ravaan – 7 + 5 = 12 * (Still to battle Azza)
Samiboi – 7 + 5 = 12 * (Still to battle Passa)
Azza – 7 + 4 = 11 * (Still to battle Ravaan)
Passa – 7 + 3 = 10 * (Still to battle samiboi and Qbert)
Admeister – 7 + 4 = 11 * (Still to battle Qbert)
Qbert – 6 + 2 = 8 * (Still to battle Passa and Admeister)
Hopefully this is understandable. The numbers are the sum of the points from the first two rounds. So for example, with wako's scores, in round 1 he won one battle and lost two, so 3 + 2 + 2 = 7. And the same for the next round.
With creating the new match-ups for Round 3, I am trying to make it fairer for everybody's skill level, making the groups as balanced as I can. But if I do it, then I guess it's biased (or people may feel that it is).
Help suggestions please!
EDIT: Here is a group list that I made myself, trying to balance the groups as much as possible to make it as fair as possible. If you do/don't like it, let me know!
Round 3
Group 1
1. Azza
2. Macka
3. Ravaan
4. Admeister
5. Jibbs
6. Passa
Group 2
1. samiboi
2. Dare
3. Qbert
4. wako
5. plazma
6. mcerto _________________

might not like this suggestion, but how about after round two the lowest 6 are in a group and the highest 6 are in another group.
May not be the best idea, cause some of the best we be knocked out, but it will give the not-so-good contendants a better chance.
OR after this round you could go down the list and split the groups like this.
Group 1
1st
3rd
5th
7th
9th
11th
Group 2
2nd
4th
6th
8th
10th
12th
If not it doesn't matter they are fine how they are. these are just some suggestions. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Sounds good to me, the better people will be playing people more at their own level, rather than easy matches against those who aren't as good. Then, the best of the people who aren't as good get to take on the higher ranked people. _________________

^^ I like the idea of that too, but it's hard to cut the 12 people in the tournament in half and decide who is better than who. I would say that Jibbs, mcerto, waka and Dare are the best people I've battled, but then I havent battled many other people so I don't really know. Plus pokemon can have a real luck-of-the-draw outcome so other people I've found easy might have just had a real bad time.
And no offense to Dare, but I would say that he would extremely overwhelmed with the other people in the group. There isn't really a "top six" of the pokemon community, more like a top 4.
So yeh, more suggestions. _________________

if thats the case, you could split the top four up into two groups of 2, and then split the others up into the those groups however you want, that way the strongest people dont entirely overwhelm everyone else..i guess.
so it would look like:
group 1
waka
mcerto
qbert
passa
samiboi
admeister
group 2
macka
jibbs
dare
plazma
ravaan
azza
...i dont know, its a suggestion. other thank that, the fairest way would be complete randomization. _________________

I'm not offended Macka, surely in tournament situations the question of who is better than who is bound to come up
Sure i haven't been subject to the 'Jibbs effect' and raised an Uber team of max EV's, IV etc etc, but i put in my best effort, i do an ok job, and similar to like what mcerto said, win or lose i just like being part of it all
I'm not part of the top 4 (in mind I'm almost there, but not in my line-up atm), its ok
@ mcerto: i think thats a good way about it, or yeah we could stick to complete randomization.... _________________

Same here Dare. All you can do is your best, whether you win or not is less important.
I also agree with mcerto, that does seem pretty fair. _________________
