Hey guys, im thinking upgrading my PS3 gaming experience by buying a new telly. (atm i have a 68cm tv)
Im looking at the Bravia range, what do you guys think of the 46 inch X-series a good choice ?
What exactly do you need to get these type of tv's up & running, what cables do i need to buy ?
I know i need a hdmi cable but do i need any more cables for foxtel ?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

SCART Component Cables for the Foxtel, You'll be able to find them at Dicksmiths.
Foxtel will be releasing a new HD model which supports HDMI as well, so if you do your research you should be able to upgrade.
And the X series is pretty sweet, Have fun with your new set up. _________________

We have a xbr 40". It's great but we use none of the HD compatibilities at the moment apart from playing blurays and ps3 games in hd..
foxtel has brought out IQ2 but it is a rip off and only 5 channels atm.
The bravia is a good choice but honestly i think it is slightly overpriced.
but yeah its the perfect size. any bigger than 40" and i find playing FPS games can feel quite strange.

no its only really a problem for FPS games. but it just makes me dizzy and harder to see enemies. it doesn't matter to some people.. but others don't like it. TBH i prefer playing FPS games on my 23" lcd rather than the 40"..
but yeah thats just me. for all other games the 46" is great especial racers because on a 23", racers are total crap when you change to incar view!

I guess its because you have more area to cover and it's hard having to dart your eyes from place to place, at least on a smaller screen you pretty much have most of the screen in view, or the big parts such as ammo, life, the mini map etc. _________________

Are you just too close to the screen? If its a big enough room it shouldn't make a difference.

I would definitely recommend a 46 inch Bravia if you have the cash to splurge. I own a 46" X Series and love it, I have it hooked up to my Yamaha amp which is connected to my PS3, Xbox and Wii. Everything looks great in 1080p, so its great for games and digital TV, watching HD programs with crystal clear picture.
I personally have never had problems playing FPS on my TV, like COD4, Halo 3 etc etc. I sit 3 metres away from the TV and I can make everything out without becoming dizzy.

Ill be sitting around 4.5 metres away from my tv so im thinking of the 46 inch size.
Bing Lee have the 46 inch X Series Bravia on sale atm, after cash back $3095.
D*ck Smith has the 40 inch X Series Bravia on sale atm, after cash back $2637.
Add say around $330 for the extra 4 years warrenty & a total of $3425 seems very good for a bloody great telly.
I think ill be making my way down to Bing Lee on Saturday.

Called into D*ck Smith today & walked out a very happy lad.
Atm D*ck Smith has 15% off Plasmas & LCD's.
Guess what guys.....i got a awesome deal.
I got the 46 inch X Series for $3040 & still get the $200 cash back. So that means after cash back it comes to $2840.
Good thing i called in on my way past after work, thats a much better deal than the Bing Lee one.
So anyone out there looking at getting a new tv, go to D*ck Smith.
I get the tv delivered this Saturday.
Ill post photos of my set up when im all sorted.
