Thats a hard question mate. I couldn't pick just one game. On the top of my list would be Fight Night Round 2, SSX Tricky, NBA Street V3, GTA III and San Andreas, just to name a few.

Very hard to pick.
The one game I got the most satisfaction from was probably Final Fantasy X. Still an absolute classic in my book. In terms of hours, the FIFA franchise has taken a massive amount of my life.

God of War 1 has got to be my favourite game iv ever played. its 10/10 on all fronts for me. replayed tons of times, got all the unlocks etc. there is almost no faults i can find with the game, and the faults the game does have, are completely outweighed by everything else. the story, characters, gamplay, combat, its all perfect to me.

Chrono Cross.. (was a close fight between Cross and Trigger for number one actually).
I'm no fan of RPGs. But Chrono Cross was incredible - I would play it for hours at a time, engrossed in this beautiful and involving game world. Everything about the game was perfect - the gameplay (the battle system was awesome, and the no-grind levelling..), the sound (the best game soundtrack ever), the graphics (it looked years beyond other PSX games) and even the length of the game. Normally I despise long games but in this case I didn't want it to end, and the length (about 30-40 hours?) just makes it feel like an unbelievable journey.
I could rant on forever about Cross so I'll stop there. Trigger is my easy number two, then the likes of Halo CE, Deus Ex, Age of Empires II, Freelancer..

hmmm hard but its a bit of a toss up between ea sports cricket 05, battlefield 2 modern combat and gta san andreas. but then again resistance and cod4 and a few more coming put those others in threat so i really dont know.

Resident Evil 4 is my favorite game of all time due to its amazing story telling skills and great replay value. The game never got old for me despite the amount of times I replayed it. I had it on both GC and PS2 but the GC version was my was version of choice due to the graphics that only the Gamecube could pull off so well.
Followed very closely by:
Which has been one of my favorites since I first started gaming. So I guess I've always been a sucker for a good story in my games and RE4 and FFVIII really delivered in this department for me.
Along with the above Zelda: Majoras Mask, DOOM and GTAIV are also all very close to my heart.

For me it has to be Tetris, sure it's not the most mind blowing game but I've been playing it on and off for for over 15 years since I first got it on on my original gameboy. For some reason I just keep coming back to it.
Other contenders would have to be "Ocarina of Time" and "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time", both just blew me away the first time I played them for there fantastic style and gameplay.

My favorite is definitely Starcraft. Can't wait for Starcraft II !!!
But in saying that C&C series & Civilization series would be really close to being up there.

Although Shadow of the Colossus is actually the game i've dreamt about my whole life i've had more fun playing Resident Evils (all of them). If I really had to choose one though it would be Resident Evil 4, mainly because there is a real focus on leveling up your guns (love rpg like elements in my action games) which is missing from the others to an extent (some guns you can level up with parts but not every gun and not multiple categories like in 4). Also other than the elites in Halo i've found the enemies in Resident Evil 4 to have the most variety and intelligence.
Shadow of the Colossus would be a close second though.
