*sigh* Yes it's not the humour that took a crack team of intellectuals to develop, but the point remains, using that as an example, that labelling B-K games are originally just 'kiddy' games isn't right. It's entirely fair for older games to expect something more given the precedents that have been set. _________________
I don't think the trailer is doing the game justice. I think the true Banjo game will come through fine when it's released.
I hope anyway. I'm willing to give it a chance instead of writing it off as a ville peice of shit like you Jibbs! Shame! _________________ Shin J Leon.
Hey, i'm a realist. If something looks like shit, smells like shit, and i have it on good authority from dances that it tastes like shit......then isn't something shit?Hey i wanted it to be good guys, i really did.I loved the originals......but i'm not stupid.I'm not blind.
You guys on the otherhand, are dreamers.Sitting back, letting rare slowly reach under bk's proverbial shirt and cop a feel, ruining our collective innocence in this loved series while doing so.
Tsk, i'll change my username to 'dumbass lil bitch' if this game gets more then an 8 on palgn(wait that's scary, brendan may review the game.Let's say metacritic instead). _________________

Although I love the part of building those crafts etc (hopefully there is room for full originality like the gummi ships from kingdom hearts etc) I have to say that it looks fairly certain that the whole game is going to revolve around these vehicles which to my shock isn't what I was expecting from this game.
I hope to god that the game retains a good heap of its originality and isn't solely based around these crafts.
Either way I'll probably get it as I need a good platformer/racingbuildingthingy? which has been lacking for the 360 of late.
Also what's with the comments about the game looking shit? It looks pretty good imo graphics wise, unless you are saying the 'gameplay' looks shit then I guess that's understandable. Not my expectations from what I have seen but I'll have to see what else pans out from this as these tidbits of info and footage is all we have to go on at the moment. _________________
Yeah I read 1UP's preview. OK Jibbs, I think you are right. The developers sound like they are trying to prove the concept to themselves. And it does sound like the vechiles are the complete core of the game. GARH!
Fucking pile of shit. _________________ Shin J Leon.

My only problem with the graphics is the art style, but even now I'm starting to warm to it. On the technical level, the graphics do look pretty amazing, which is pretty much par for the course where Rare is concerned.
And Jibbs, I've got a feeling you're going to regret making that claim come review time The previews so far have been very positive, so maybe playing is believing? Besides, there's still a long way to go before we can accurately make up our minds about the actual quality of the game.
I think I'm starting to like where this game is heading, which is weird given that less than 24 hours ago nothing about it appealed to me. _________________

So true Leon. This part of the preview caught my attention:

What I played recently is very much Banjo-Kazooie in its adventure elements and gorgeously vibrant world, but it has a heavy focus on vehicle construction and vehicular objectives. Banjo can still run around the mammoth levels on foot, but it's tough to accomplish much that way (especially at any reasonable speed). The real pleasure comes from finding a task to do or spotting an out-of-reach puzzle piece you'd like to acquire and then hopping into your workshop to build the appropriate vehicle to reach it.
Some fans will surely yearn for a classic Banjo-Kazooie approach, and they'll at least get a taste of it in the hub world, Showdown Town. You'll get to explore it in between the primary stages in traditional Banjo fashion, hopping and bopping through enemies and climbing around town. Kazooie's role has been scaled back to work only with physics-based actions, as she wields a beam-emitting wand that you can use to move objects, flip your vehicle if it falls over, or tweak your creation's construction in the wild without going into the garage to edit.
That, and Mumbo now runs a vehicle building workshop... Poor Kazooie. _________________

Ok so after watching the trailer the vehical thing seems kind of lame, although the jet surfer popping out of the bigger flying thing seemed cool.
That said, I really can't be the only person that things that Banjos running animation coupled with the panting made him look like a fat retarded kid chasing cake? _________________

What the fat nuts?
Is this the worlds crudest attempt at pushing in a use for MS wiimote?

*sigh* Ever since I saw that blocky Banjo my interest in this game has been ever falling. I don't think it could get much worse at this point, except maybe if Gruntilda farted or something.
Building vehicles looks like it could be fun; watching them fall apart while doing challenges? Not so much.
Least the music is the classic tunes remixed, those who failed to notice that should go play Banjo--Kazooie again.
Wow. Just saw the gameplay footage. Am I the only one who thinks it looks pretty cool? I don't understand why people are so down on this game. It might be shit, but I tend to reserve that judgement until I actually PLAY THE GAME! Or at least read a couple of reviews.
I think if this game came out as a new IP everyone would be talking about how cool it looked. It is just because you want the same, safe banjo formula. Standard platforming can only go so far, and I am always keen to see a total revamp. When you stick to what you know, it can become stale and boring. Like Metallica. If you mix it up and change things it can stay fresh. Of course, there is a possibility this game will suck a huge knob, but how could you possibly know that until it comes out? There are tonnes of games that sound like they would be woeful, but come out and surprise you, and tonnes of games that look amazing but are released and are just dissapointing.....

Looking at preview reports elsewhere, i do feel pretty positive about it now, though i'll still wanna see what the end result is before committing to it, i think thats the right approach. Consider it like a new IP, its not really a platformer but it is interesting in the same way boom blox etc are, and it appeals to me as a viva pinata fan, rather than appealling to the original banjo audience i guess. Still wish it was wii and not sure about any now very likely looking MS wiimote though. _________________
I don't doubt this game might actually be alright production wise (like good graphics, nice menus etc) but content wise it looks like a stinker. They really should take Banjo and Kazooie out of the game replace it with f*** Yogi bear and doodle bird or sum s***! This is gonna ruin Banjo's image and sooner or later he's gonna be pimped out like Sonic and Crash Bandicoot which is the last thing we all want.
You think after like a 10 year abscence the least they can do is give the fans what they want.....just more Banjo Kazooie on a next gen platform. It's really not that complicated for f*** sake!

I don't know.....as much faith as I did have in Rare looking at what they're doing with Banjo Kazooie doesn't look like my cup of tea. Building vehicles and stuff would probably be awesome in any other genre but in a platformer is sounds like an afterthought or a gimmick. Platforming usually means exploring or jumping around to me and yea vehicles are s*** for both of those gameplay elements, they're great for trekking large distances but that's about it imo unless of course they're used for combat and again being a platformer I hope that's not what they're going to be concentrating on. I want crazy wacky worlds to interact with....like I want the variety to be in the worlds themselves and not really in the characters and vehicles.
Again i'm remaining optimistic but i'm really not liking where it's heading.
Just like I predicted yesterday! No doubt the game will be ok but as a Banjo Kazooie game this sux hard and all I wanted was a colouful extra detailed world which I can explore just like in the old games but with that much more to look at. Platformers already pack a lot of variety because of the mechanics and freedom you're usually given to figure out the world and all it's little puzzles, really all they needed to do was create a unique world (which Rare are the fucking masters at) and just inject a bit of personality into it, the puzzles really didn't have to be really unique or anything, they could've used stuff they've seen in other games or even things they've done in the past. Why couldn't they make a pirate type Banjo Kazooie, you know like a crazy ghost or pirate theme where Banjo gets caught up in some crazy adventure searching for treasure on an unknown island or sum shit?! Anyways that's the theme I was hoping for and to see stupid little spheres....like you know this isn't some proper world just fuckin' Banjo stuck inside a bunch of glass bowls each with their own theme and shit! It just looks and feels wrong to me.
Maybe the next Kameo will atleast be like it's predecessor. Looks like the platformer is pretty much dead because stupid devs don't have a fuckin' clue that sometimes more of the same ain't such a bad thing! I'm fuckin' sik of innovation and creativity in games! No honestly....I would be playing Resident Evil 1000 basically exactly the same as part 1 but new weapons, monsters and environments but the gameplay is the same! Same with God of War, same with Mario....honestly I don't need innovation in my games just better graphics and as machines get more powerful I knew this would be a given! What I didn't realise was companies being creative for the fucking sake of it! How shit would it have been if Mario Galaxy was all about flying around in a ship collecting rocks and crap! FUCK!!! _________________ Wii Friend Code: ugh - 0264 5224 8589 9060 Ps3 Id: ugh_the_boot

Yeah the whole pirate theme hasn't been milked enough yet imo.Dkc2 on the snes was awesome as the setting had never been explored before and it was pirate to the MAX-everything from the enemies, to the bosses, to the levels-everything had that pirate, swashbuckling theme to it, really interesting stuff.
Can always depend on ugh to tell it how it is, rather then give the generic 'let's all wait and see before passing judgement' response. _________________

Yeah it looks to be rubbish and the dissapointment factor is high among all Banjo fans but it could still turn out OK. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I'm not proclaiming anything, Jibbs saw it coming way before me. All I know is you're the only fool eating his words.

I think Banjo is looking good. Rare have been cooking it up for ages and I have no reason to doubt them (Viva Pinata is a great game). I think they aren't doing the game justice by showing vechiles. I do think people are overeacting (espically about his model, I think it looks great, what is wrong with you people?). The vechiles most likely will be part of the game, but not the core. Banjo is a platformer and I'd say they'll stick it to it.

Yes, this game is like some sort of breakup or something. I go through stages of thinking it will be all right and then think it's all over. Stupid Rare. _________________ Shin J Leon.
Boxart? A rating? Is this coming sooner than expected?
I remain hopeful. The customisable building elements actually seem like what I envisioned from the perfect platformer game (basically I want a game that gives you a bunch of really different ways about going at the same task). I'll happily continue to sit on Banjo's side of the ring for this one. Hopefully it'll pay off, or else Jibbs will take of his belt and beat me again. That damn guy is always taking off his belt around me. _________________
