Pokémon Platinum ( Poketto Monsutā Platima, Pocket Monsters Platinum?) is a sequel to the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl role-playing video games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS.
According to the May 15th Edition of the popular Japanese Magazine CoroCoro, Poketto Monsutā Platima is currently in the works. It will be the final game of the Sinnoh series, and it will feature several new changes. Pokemon Platinum follows the same patterns as Pokémon Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald.

It's sounding more like an expansion that a sequel to me, which makes sense if it's like Pokemon Yellow and Crystal.

There's no point of this for me when I've played Pearl for over 200 hours, I don't want to have to re-start again. I've never seen the point of people buying the expansions such as Yellow (unless they didn't get the original game).

Yer, Gold / Silver was the best, i have so many level 100 pokemon in Silver, so many hours spent in Mount Silver? (the mountain with like level 55 pokemon)

If they have in the past, well, not this time. It's been specifically stated that there will be no new pokemon. Looks like this will be the game to get for people who didn't get Diamond or Pearl.

It'll probably be just like the others and have the same 'batch' of
pokemon but in different areas - and some might be missing but others
easily found.
It's for people who don't have either Diamond or Pearl,
or people who just want to own every game. It's for people like me.
But in the end (possibly in the beginning too) its to make more money.

Did anyone properly look at this?
Can you not see the weird looking giratina snake thingy?
Or the screen with the big dark shadow winged thing?
did you read the wikipedia, source? giratina's new form, shayamins new for and regigigas new form.
i guess maybe not necissarily new, but still......

I'll probably pick this one up, as I didn't have a chance to finish Pearl/Diamond.
Also, I think they are running out of precious stones/metals to call their games. I'm thinking the next one will be Pokemon Uranium 235.

I've come across unconfirmed reports that there will be new pokies.I think this game will be like what emerald was to saphire and ruby, no new pokemons aside from a handful(or even just one or two) legendaries.

Yeah, apparantly there will be a few new forms of pokemon (Giratina, Regigigas and Shaymin). I doubt it will have all of the 493 pokemon in it, just rearranged areas again.

I really, really wish they'd stop pumping out handheld versions without making an "epic" all-in-one Pokemon adventure, or at least work on making a full scale 3D adventure for the Wii.
Even though I'm no longer a fan of the series the latter would be really cool.

Yes, Giratina's origin form. It appears in the newest Pokemon movie. 
Must... Buy... To... Complete... COLL-ECT-TION!! As I always say, "if it's a Pokemon RPG, i'm there"!  I guess i'll use Platinum to build a new team and finally own a Turtwig+.

Never going to happen. Nintendo wouldn't want to screw over the pokemon handheld games, because they sell so well.
If they made a massive home console pokemon game, it would take longer to make, cost a lot more to develop and then the handheld games would be ditched for the better console version.

Nintendo...atleast give us one event Pokemon. Im sick of getting so close to 100% only to be hit face to face with a brick wall >;> Or maybe a shiny Cresellia...that thing looks awesome.
Either way Im buying, I hope they give a free stylus away for the event, seeing as I have the Palkia and Dialga one, the Giratina stylus would be nice ^^
