Personally, I disapprove with Activision and RedOctane's business ethics. Not only is it rude and downright vicious, it also discourages me from supporting their product(s).
When RockBand hits the AU, Activision's precious Guitar Hero franchise will be left for dust. Ive tried to love Guitar Hero III as much as the first two, but it's simply not possible. It's just not as good. Tracks in Harmonix' original two efforts have that fun factor to them, while many of the tracks in GH III simply arent that enjoyable to play. This is just an opinion ofcourse, but it's one shared by myself and friends who play GH quite alot.
NOTE: Oh and +1 to you Brendan for your love of ice hockey

I think yahtzee summed up ghIII the best, and i agree with that 100%
Edit : having now read the article linked in the above post, i must say, Activision you are wankers, the part that pisses me off is that the harmonix people seem like really nice guys and have the best intentions, but i don't think they where quite prepared for the popularity of GH and definitely not prepared for the "sink the boot in" machinations of activision. Naive of the corporate wank.... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill
