but what could you do in a prequel?
the city would still be functioning why would you need to kill anyone/hack anything etc.
and its not like you could be in the stages of building the city either cause the same problem applies _________________

excellent.
a sequel would almost certainly be bad, in that the only thing i can think of would be it being some sort of clean-up crew being sent by a government to contain the situation, before being way-laid by splicers and being forced to capture Adam, splicing yourself and so on and so-forth. that (to me anyway) doesn't sound like fun - too "been there, done that".
a prequel though... well, the back-story is there, but i can't help but wonder what the enemies are going to be.
i guess it does depend on when in the pre-events this will be set. SPOILERSit could start with Fontaine's rebellion and Ryan trying to re-establish control, or it could start with the Splicer outbreak.
colour me intrigued anyway. _________________

I'd rather see a sequel to System Shock 2 then Bioshock. I think a prequel is prefect. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Please change the announcement to "Take 2 takes a 2nd take on Take 2's last announcement..."
January 9th 2008; Stock of Take 2 tops as Take 2 CEO takes a second take on Take 2's announced Bioshock sequel. After second thoughts (and valuable input from LeonJ and Cookie) Take 2's top man decided that instead of a Bioshock sequel Take 2 will take a shot at producing a shock prequel to SystemShock called PreShock.
Seriously a prequel to SystemShock is a good idea.

I can't really remember the situation in the first System Shock (WAY too long since I played it), did it lend itself to a prequel?

A prequel DOES make the most sense, unless 2K intends on half the game to be in a submarine, or the big daddies managed to fix the whole city very quickly. Being a citizen of Rapture sounds very interesting, too.
A prequel for System Shock sounds a bit iffy though. I mean, System Shock came out in 1996 (and then 1999)!
