you guys do know that ... um ps3 is region locked for blurays and it depends on the studios/release if they are region ABC. I hoped you checked the coding thing before ordering.
That said.. I'm checking this now! Wooot. More for my collection. USA PS3 rocks

I have a 42" Panasonic Plassie that is displaying, via component cables, 1080i and 720p as its max resolutions. From what little research i have done, the blu rays i purchase will be downgraded to 476p.
Is anyone aware of anything different or updates in the pipeline that could potentially resurrect this problem?
Bottom line is i want the complete planet earth collection on blu ray. I figure if i can't display it at 720p / 1080i via component i am better off getting the DVD.
C'mon Sony, my PS3 is currently in the shop under warranty, don't deliver me any more bad news. _________________

I looked at Fantastic Four but its region locked so no good for me.
Some of the other titles Amazon had said they where region locked but according to another site they will work fine.
Good luck with your purchases.

I have a USA Ps3. So I love the deepdiscountdvd + amazon bluray B1G1 sales. There are so good and cheap that they make the australian blurays b2g1f pale in comparison.
I should post a photo of my collection to date. I tried with the most recent sale to stop double dipping (buying versions that I already own on dvd). I really wanted to get the Harry Potters but I already have them on dvd. I'm sure the sales will come around again.. hopefully. I should have gotten them on bluray though... dunno but they were off the list when I was ready to order. The aus release of HP1 (philosopher stone) + HP2 (the one with the diary) were fullscreen versions (at initial release, thats all there was)
