^Good to hear you're stable now That SLI should give you a solid boost once the Crysis patch is out, which is what I'm waiting for also, considering that 'apparently' it's supposed to improve the quad core support by quite a bit.
For now I just stick to UT3 though. 140fps at 1680x, max everything. Deferred lighting render paths refuse to mix AA with it, but regardless you don't notice jaggies at 400 km a minute. _________________

Sounds awesome, I really need to pick it up sometime soon! Can't believe that you're getting such a stupidly high frame-rate on it, given how sexy the game is. I suppose thats what you get when you're running an 'uber' rig _________________

That, and a lot of tweaking and OS optimization
My shutdown issue's gone too, looks like the BIOS update fixed it for me. _________________

with that system, yes, but only if u can upgrade that video card. it looks to be the only thing dragging down your system, everything else is great. i just built a PC for my dad with pretty much same specs (E6750, 2gb ram, and an 8600) so yes, you should be able to run call of duty 4, but not on that video card. get an 8800gt and it will run great _________________

Got a nice new comp for xmas
Its an acer veriton 7900pro with some custom ordered parts
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.6ghz
Geforce 8800 Ultra
4GB ddr2 ram
2x 350gb internal HD + 1tb external hd - and its almost full atm with film footage and all my 3d files, now I need another terabyte to back it all up
I also got a 22" samsung 1080p HD monitor, and im using my old Logitech X-230 2.1 speakers, hoping to buy a 5.1 setup soon but my computer room isnt really set up properly for it.
Im just wondering though, im running windows xp proffessional atm, is it really worth upgrading to windows vista? like is there really that much difference? does it improve performance for anything?
Not too worried about the UI differences, i know it looks alot cooler, just thinking about the performance side.
thanks _________________

^With SP3 (You can get the RC Version Release Here) on XP the performance is meant to be 3x faster the Vista with SP1 installed, so that should clear it all up for you. _________________ Became a DAD on the 29/10/09 @ 10:47am, to a 7lbs 71/2oz baby girl, named Gianne Lee Joseph-Webster.

That 3x is only in specific circumstances... not really related to gaming at all either. However you'd find that performance for most games is slightly below XP performance in Vista.

finally got my entire setup finished (except for my keyboard, im trying to find a good place to buy a wolfclaw V2 or attachement, if any1 knows a place)
i got my G9 mouse yesterday, aswell as my sata DVD drive and an XFX 8800GT (alpha dog edition).
i ran the windows experience points in vista, and i get a score of 5.7.
i get 5.7 for processor, a 5.9 for everything else, except data transfer speed, which is 5.8.
overall, im so very happy being able to run crysis on very high settings. no AA or anything, and not at highest res, but still, it looks great.
edit: forgot to mention, i ran 3dmark05 yesterday (still have to DL 06) and i got 19,997 marks for my gfx card. kinda disapointed i didnt get 20k, but still, 19,997 is nothing to complain about. im still grinning about seeing the score last night _________________

Samboy you should be proud with that score, I only got 13,022 3Dmark05 points with my system (might redo it again though), and only get 4.9 Vista Performance Score. _________________ Became a DAD on the 29/10/09 @ 10:47am, to a 7lbs 71/2oz baby girl, named Gianne Lee Joseph-Webster.

The plan is for me and my setup is to drop a new CPU into what I've now dubbed my Franken-Dell. Basically everything in it has been changed the only original hardware that remains is the motherboard, sound card and PSU.
So now its time for a new CPU, the plan is to sink a quad 2.4 of 2.66 unit into the Dell. Now the only thing that needs working out is if I'll need a new motherboard.
What is currently has:
2.8GHz Pentium 4
3GB of DDR2 667Mhz RAM
160GB Hard Disc (Basically I got a replacement one since the other crapped out)
256MB 7600GT Nvidia with Dual DVI
Dual DVD-RW drives at x8
MX 3200 Keyboard/Mouse set
MX Revolution Mouse
Generic Sound Card
One day I'd like to be able to cut a perspex window into the side of my Dell Box and stick some blue LEDs in there, maybe even change the Dell logo to "Franken-Dell".

Thought I'd jump on the wagon.
Quad Core 6600
2 GB DDR2
WD SATA 500GB HDD
8800GTS 640MB
P35C-DS3R Mobo
CM Stacker RC-830 Case
DELL 2407WFP 24" LCD
Will upgrade to DDR3 once price drops, since my board can handle it. Will also probably go to 45nm sometime, since the board can handle that too! Also going to put in a 2nd 500GB HDD for some RAID action soonish.
Runs Crysis quite well at 1680x1050... Native res of monitor is 1920x1050, but Crysis is not very playable at that level! What a monster of a game. Awesome stuff though! _________________
