oh goody...
I hate Shrek for some reason.
Anyway, I hate how studios re-release DVDs and put them in pretty packaging and re-sell them as an "SE Edition". Why not just release a movie with all the extras at once?! _________________

Movie companys are such whores.
Easy money:
Release DVD of movie with no extras
Wait six months
Re-release a special edition
Wait six months
Re-release another special edition
It really irks me.
I've never seen Shrek, though. Probably should one day.

Yeah I hate it when they release Special Editions, although that has only happened to me with LotR but my Dad got it and he didn't know about the special edition coming out.
Shrek DVD over here has all the extra features I would want...well I only really watch the deleted scenes. Sometimes the interviews.
You usually can't complain about Special Editions since they are usually years later, like the Reservoir Dogs Ten Years DVD.

I think they should only release Superbit DVDs.
Superbit = They take out all the extras and use the space to get better image- and soundquality. _________________

I'm not too fond of Superbit. I doubt the image quality would improve dramatically enough to warrant the absence of the DVD extras.
I'd rather get a DVD player that outputs in progressive scan and use a standard DVD. But that's just me. _________________

I personally have never bought a DVD for the extras, I buy them for the movies.
And since there is no progressive scan on European TVs, superbit is the way to go (but they are too damn expensive ). _________________

Shrek is a symphatic little movie, and at least I found it very entertaining As I don't own the film on DVD, I will probably buy the Special Edition once it is released here in Finland. _________________

Yes it also annoys me that movie companies release the barebones edition first and then one or 2 special editions 6 - 12 months later. Bastards. At least with LOTR, they let you know there would be 2 editions and the whole reason the second version isn't out is because they have to finish it up.
I looked at the Special Features on this version and well there doesn't seem to be much new stuff from the original version. Can someone point out the new features? All I can see is the "Help for shitty Xbox Shrek game"
Shrek is a brilliant movie by the way. I recommend everyone to see it. _________________ Over and out..

*Pulls out a knife and goes after studio executives*
This REALLY annoys me. I already have the standard Shrek DVD, and I really don't know why they didn't release the 2-Disc set in the first place. Double-dipping is one of the worst problems with the DVD format in my opinion.
I know that sounds hypocritical, considering I am partially responsible for the re-release of the Harry Potter R4 DVD in Widescreen, but with some movies it's warranted; such as LotR Extended Edition. _________________
