Hey - now that COD4 has been out for a month - what are people's overall impressions. I'm just an amatuer at FPSs and haven't played any of the CODs however I did download the COD2 single player demo and COD4 multiplayer beta and enjoyed both. I'm looking to buy it tonight in a couple of hours but wanted to justify my purchase (mainly cause I have a ton of games to play and don't need anymore....oh well ONE MORE CAN'T HURT!!!)

So my question is are there things 10-20 hours into the game you disliked? I find first impressions sometimes misleading as people are really hyped up for their game. Thanks.

Awesome game. Single player is probably 8hrs max though. But i actually thought it was a good length, some people think its too short.

Multiplayer is great too, which prolongs it a lot. Lots of people prefer it over Halo 3.

^^ Thanks dude. Yeah I don't mind short games - it doesn't faze me. Even 20 hr games are long for me these days.

Id be buying it for the multiplayer as I really enjoyed the beta. I had a couple of games of Halo 3 and it was just too hard, I was getting killed before I could even get myself oriented. Also Halo 2 multiplayer got way too hard, I only made it to level 9 before I gave up.

Question: Is this splitscreen over live?

I would be one of the aforementioned people who prefer this over halo.

After 24 hours plus on online play I'm still finding this incredibly entertaining.

Only 2 gripes -

1) There is no way to filter the locality of hosted games - and you cant check connection quality (IE LAG) until the game has started (well i haven't found a way yet). - I would prefer to play against Aussies.

And 2.... oh wait, I kind of rolled both into one.

Of course the entertainment value is subjective, however the multi player + all the modes and challenges have been produced to a high level of polish.

See you online!

Well, I absolutely love the game (both SP and MP), and highly recommend you get it. But, if you want to enjoy the game, don't play it on veteran difficulty first up. A mate of mine went straight to veteran (he's a gamerscore junkie), and it would take him 4 - 5 hours just to get past certain points, so now he hates it and doesn't even want to play the multi player part!

Oh, and k-mart have the game for $69.

I take offense to that. I'm not a gamerscore junkie......ok I am. It felt good to finish the game on veteran, but I cried myself to sleep most nights after.

But for $69, go but it. It's very polished and is a great campaign.

Yep that's why I'm getting it.

And nope i'm not a gamerscore junkie. I would love to have a high gamerscore but I just don't have the time or the patience. Props to all of you who do.

It is an absolute must buy for FPS fans. I bought this game thinking it would be good but it ended up being amazing and the funny this is I haven't even played any of the multiplayer yet! (which is meant to be the best thing about the game).

From my experience with the Singleplayer side of the game, all I can say is its like being in a movie. It really makes you feel like your part of the game and its all done in game in real time which is even better. I loved the scene at the start with the ship and the bit when you take your first car trip is so epic and movie like. Graphically the game really is close to perfection at this point in time for the 360.

Then you have wonderful gameplay which most come to expect from the Call of Duty games. Along with incredible squad and enemy AI. Ever changing environments and a vast array of perfected weaponry. Its very good you should most certainly buy it.

Awesome game. I've spent over 3 days (total online time) on the multiplayer, and the single player player makes Halo 3's single player look like a 1940's action movie.

Only really stopped playing it because I'm trying to get good at Guitar Hero 3, plus I have Mario Galaxy and Metroid 3 on the Wii as well. Plus My book that I like to get an hour or 2 in a day.

Someone should invent a machine that stops time inside it, so you can go in, play all your games, then come out and only 1 second has passed in the real world. That would be awesome.

The singleplayer is terrific with great visuals, an engaging story and loads of atmosphere. However, it does suffer from a few unwelcome difficulty spikes but if you're willing to work past those areas then you'll enjoy the game much more. Haven't given the multi much of a bash yet, but if it's anything like the Beta I'll enjoy it. icon_cool.gif

I got it - played about 1 hours single and 3 hours multiplayer. Well multiplayer is as I expected awesome... singleplayer - why does the AI kill most of the enemies. ok I know i suck, but seems like my AI teammates is doing 75% of the work.
