I wouldn't freak out just yet. I sent mine in on a Tuesday I think it was, and got the email saying it had been received at 1am on the Friday morning (wtf?) and another email saying it had been fixed and dispatched at 5:45am (even more wtf). Seems they're working around the clock to fix them!

WELL HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!....Just got my box back after a RROD for only a few weeks now...and guess WHAT....i play HALO 3 for a few hours and PIXEL CORRUPTION!!!!!!....so i restart and bloody hell another RROD!!!...so i then restart and it got going again and i finally finished HALO 3....i dunno what to do now looks like its happening all over again...but i'll wait and see if it starts to do it regularly...BEFORE ANOTHER PHONE CALL TO REPAIR CITY!!!!...EEEK
THANKS MICROSOFT XBOX IS OFFICIALLY A BUGBOX...
I FEEL FOR ALL MY PALGN BROTHERS THAT HAVE HAD A RROD!!!

I had three faulty Xbox 360's on launch before getting a fourth one that worked perfectly. I've since migrated to an Elite, and it's been working fine (except the occasional tray-jamming when it's ejected).
I think I've had my fair share of Xbox 360 related problems, from RROD to faulty graphics chips to good old Mr. E74...
...which apparently means the AV cable has become unplugged, despite it being perfectly fine.
My best friend Matty is on his fifth Xbox 360.

And don't fret if you don't get an email at all. My xbox is back and I recieved no emails whatsoever.

They should give you an achievement when you get the rings cos it's a pain having to go through it.

Got mine back yesterday! came on a day the computer in my car crapped itself so it cheered me a bit.
It's heaps quiter but other than that nothing much else.I did notice when i took a game out before it was pretty hot, only been playing it for a few hours.
Anyone ever bought one of those external fans? Do they help?

The external power pass through fans like the intercooler are hazardous as they draw more power through the power supply than it was made to produce, and there are numerous cases of connectors melting as a result of them, I'd probably avoid it in favour of keeping the console well ventilated as thats about all you should have to do.
I got mine back yesterday also, and was happy to see that my noisy toshiba disc drive had been replaced with a sexy Benq model which is almost silent compared to the last one.
Otherwise the console is the same, I haven't checked to see if it uses the newer heatsink yet, but the manufacture date, model number and serial all match up with my first. Heres hoping she's been given a dose of god mode and keeps on kicking this time.

OMG my 360's haven't got the RROD just yet, one is a launch system and the other one is a recent model manufactured in May this year.
prays I never see this RROD problem.
so far my Wii has multiple problems and the 360's have had none.
lucky me, I hate my Wii, buggy piece of crap (it is a launch model with the latest firmware)

If you use your launch 360 everyday, you can probably see the fans have a white crust all over them. That's what happened to mine lol. Also it makes a grinding sound when the disk stops spinning. When i get mine repaired it was all sweet, still pretty loud though.

Just a Question
If my 360 sounds like a Jet Engine does that mean it might overheat if I play for a long amount of hours (assuming I have breaks) without turning the console off or is it just normal?

Well is it really that bad, it doesn't sound loud but its a bit louder than the Wii when there is no sound. The games seem to run fine and everything is working. Its not hot also.
Also I heard from other people its supposed to sound a bit loud.

Hey I didn't know if it was that bad or not. I just wanted to hear people's advices on the problem. They both sound different and I just think it sounds like a Jet Engine than in comparison to the other consoles.

My question. I got my console yesterday, pluged it in and played Forza 2 for a couple of minutes to test it out. (Don't want too play much before exams). Anyway, got home from work at around 10 that night and turned it in and had the red rings! I turned it on and off five or so times and the red rings were there and nothing was on the screen. Anyway, I left it a few minutes, came back and turned it on again, still had the red ring. Switched it off at the wall and then turned it on again and it was fine. Played it for about 15 minutes earlier tonight to see if it's still OK and it's running nicely (apart from how loud it is, but that seems normal).
I'm not sure if I had the RRoD or not? It looked exactly like it, but it must not be if it's working now. I'm not going to take it back unless it does it again, but does anyone know what's going on?
