The wait is finally over! Pity I have to do an assignment this afternoon. Metroid will have to wait........

On a side note, I bought a 2000 VC Points card from EB today and the price has "apparently" gone up to $35! Is this true or was I taken for a ride?

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday when I bought LoZ Phantom Hourglass. I later checked the Wii Shop and they're still selling points for the same amount, so it's either an EB thing (wouldn't surprise me) or a Wii Points Card thing (would be a little surprised).

Short answer: no, your not the only one.

Well I can tell you the price has not gone up as I just recieved a shipment into my Indie store, Sucks to shop at EB I suppose icon_razz.gif

It honestly sounds like my local Harvey Norman, they charge an extra $5 on the XBLA points as they deem the profit margin too small,
It works wonders for the success of my shop icon_wink.gif

w00t Super Metroid!
now i think there's just Metroid 2 that i don't have in some form... pity Gameboy games are not VC-able.

it's odd with German Subtitles though.

Probo 2 is Super C, ie Contra 2. Utterly brilliant NES game.

Is is possible to get rid of the German subtitles? It was either that or French. Weird huh?

I don't mean to sound like a yarrrrrrrr pirate.

But I think nintendo just ported the rom you can find on the Internet because this sounds exactly like the ROM I played in my pirate years.(I don't play roms now).

But my theory is wrong if the original cart but nah this sounds exactly like the rom you can find on the net.

@MODS: I don't blame ya if you edit this post.

Ok... Just downloaded Super Metroid fantastic, I might add). Just a question: why can't I choose "no subtitles". It's in English, that's all I need...

Another note: Kirby's Adventure (for NES) has been updated.

I dont remember the Aussie version having the subtitles but im guessing in 1994 they released a Euro version and a Australian version. Since we get European games we get this sub titled version.

Can somebody explain this subtitle issue in Super Metroid please? There's only a few words of digitized speech in the game from memory, and everything else is text... so where do these subtitles come in?

I want to buy this, but not before understanding any VC problems there might be.

it's not a huge issue - but basically all the walls of text at the beginning (you know, where the story is explained) is edged with a shrubbery of text underneath it, in either german or french.

it doesn't pop up when you get items (or didn't when i got the morph ball, or the first rocket tank), so far it's only been during the opening cutscene, where Samus was explaining the backstory of Metroid and Metroid II - for both the digitised speech and the textual explanations.

like i said - not a huge issue - but it seems weird that there is no "No Subtitles" option, on French On and German On.

Yes, the original PAL (including Australian) release had that subtitle issue. It's because the NTSC version has Engish or Japanese text as an option in that spot, so to cover three languages the PAL version has English plus German OR French.

It's only in the intro though, there's nothing in the rest of the game.

Yeah, I remember the text on the old cart, it came up as English though on the SNES.
