A great review, this is in my opinion the best PGR to date and I am loving it, career mode kicks arse, the graphics are amazing and the motorbikes are cool as, Bizarre has left the PGR series on a high note that will be hard for any future dev to match on the 360 _________________

I dont understand kudos system. You buy cars in packs but when you brought one it doesnt show up on your career list. And your garage is full cars you cant use. _________________

Maybe it's different when it's moving, but that in car view looks hideous. Also, since when has fog been a beneficial graphical element?

I'm pretty fond of the in car view as far as aesthetics go, but I prefer third person, though I do still swap over, as first person feels a lot more exciting.

Aha, now that looks much better. That looks wicked for in-car, the shot in the review didn't do it any favours though.

Yeah, the picture I put in probably didn't do the game any favours, it doesn't quite show the same depth or atmosphere it does when viewed on my 360 for some reason. I've changed it to a nice rain one now instead _________________

the dashboards are all of a great quality and really add to the feel of the game and sensation of speed when you're driving _________________

Oooh, yeah! That pic is sex on wheels. Being able to see the mirrors and stuff is cool. Can you look around, like do head checks and stuff? I've always wanted that in a racing game (mind you I haven't played any released in the past 5 years) an in car view that is as accurate to real life as possible, I love in car views.

Damn you Chris, you've just added another game to the Q4 purchase list, as if it wasn't long enough already. I'll have to get it after Prime 3.

Love your review - and from the 2 hours I've played I agree with what you say.
Im surprised you found platinum 'easy' from PGR3!!
The only thing Im disappointed with is they didn't go all out with the cities like PGR2, basically PGR3 is included in PGR4 to fill up the dead space on the disc. Obviously that is to do with how much more effort is required to make a game on the 360.
I would have really liked to see 8 brand new cities as bringing back PGR3 cities makes me feel like I'm playing the old game... It would have been nice if they were add ons...
The other thing I believe should be fixed is the ability to retry a race in career mode while you are in the race and then the sudden loss of that ability once you exit back to the calendar. Bit silly really! If they had a 'practice' option for every event, and then the ability to 'race' and only have one go at the event, I think that would make a lot more sense! Sure there are going to be people who stuff up on that one go but it would be a lot more realistic. _________________

Wow... this has been the best written PGR4 review to date. Nicely done. The IGN and 1Up reviews were terrible. Even Eurogamer's glowing review seemed to skip over the most important points and improvements made in the sequel.
Kudos!

I have to agree with the above post, this is definitely one of the better reviews I have read for the game. Perhaps I'm biased though because the review basically outlines everything I think about the game (and the series for that matter).
Either way PGR 4 is a fantastic addition to the series that is definitely better than PGR 3. I just hope people don't think weather effects is something new for the franchise, because there was rain and stuff in PGR 2 as well.
Oh and yes, PGR 3 was far too easy when it came to obtaining all Platinums. PGR 4 isn't that much harder though... _________________

I was umming and ahhing over whether to get this, and i'm glad i did. Awesome game, just so much fun to play, while i enjoyed Forza it felt like someone quickly sucked the fun out of it before they released it. Well they must have put the left over fun tickets in this game. A real pleasure to play and the graphics are pushing to be the best i've seen in anything.
9.5 for me _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

I always hate reading comments like these, because it just cements what an abysmal racer I am, not being able to even clear PGR3 with a Gold medal. It could say a bit more about you than it does about me, but that's wishful thinking I gather.
Nevertheless, I'm strangely drawn to PGR4. _________________

^ Heh, well if it means anything to you the last few Arcade events in PGR 4 were actually quite hard to get the Platinums on. Nowhere near as hard as some of the events in PGR 2, but definitely harder than PGR 3's easy Platinums. _________________
