Good, because I am flying to Australia this Tuesday for that very reason. While there, I'll be visiting with our Pandemic studio in Brisbane and stopping in to see some relatives, but I will definately be in Sydney from the 15th to 18th to show off Mass Effect to the Aussie press.
Who knows, maybe I can even meet up with some of our Aussie BioWare fans for a small drink or something. Anyone going to be in Sydney the evening of the 18th? |
One day earlier than the European release and would be nice if palgn got someone to go for a press showing

Now that's one game I'll have no problems putting a down a pre-order this early on.
And Groovy, your birthday is on Nov 22nd? Join the club  Weird thing is, I know two other people with the very same birthdate! Must have been a busy night in the maternity wards around Australia...

Great to see Australia not getting left behind on the release date. Worldwide release dates are more and more often including Australia as part of "the world".

Another funny thing is two of my very good friends I've known since primary school also share the same birthday as me. Weird stuff indeed! Stuff holding a party this year ill probably just stay home and play Mass Effect now!

^ There usually aren't many big releases in December. November is the big month for games in the lead up to Christmas. December launches are too late.

Read the prequel book in the last 3 days. Awful book! The overall story is ridiculous and it makes it very hard to believe how humans advance their technology and meet the aliens. Worst back story I've ever read and I've read some bad ones! Hopefully he (the author wrote the story for the game too) wrote a better story for the game because... wow. I almost didn't finish it but it was short and I was on a flight!
Some of the characters and alien species sound good though so in a game with a more visual experience maybe it wont seem so completely unbelievable, and yes I *know* is a sci-fi but within 8 years humans advance more than we have in 2000!

It's an actual novel. Amazon. It's probably only worth a read if you wanna get into the Mass Effect universe now. Like I said: as a book it's awful but because it's for a game I'm pumped about I'm glad I read it.
Anyone else read it? I grabbed my copy in Melbourne at a specialty shop but I'm not sure it's not available through any Australian publisher/distributor.

I loved the book and thought it was a good read, its not spectacular but it's definitely a 3.5/5
