^^^ That set would be even better if it had a Fallout logo somewhere on it.

And less wood, more rusting metal.
But that monitor is freakish. _________________

Out of all the case mods I have seen, this one has really struck me as unique.

^ that is amazing onggie!
The only thing i'd be worried about if i owned it would be dust & such getting all over it, but it is unique definately.
DS Lite Case Mod:
Blue and White Zelda DS Mod
Now, don't be like me and think this one compares to that other great Zelda DS mod i've shown on here, but yes this one is quite nice. The colours overall look good together, but the only way it is even slightly Zelda is the use of a triforce, shield, swords and arrows crest on the front backlit by 2 green LED's.
Oh and this one was made in Australia

It IS a new form of art..
That chrome wii doesnt look very good to me, and the wiimote gun, whilst ok looking, would be far too awkward to use. _________________

Bumping this thread to post a PC mod that I find even more awesome than the phenomenal Doom 3 one (posted above) --
The Virgilius woodworked PC case!
More pictures (the details are amazing) and a small write-up here, I thoroughly recommend checking it out. _________________

That is so fucking awesome....*speechless*
There should be a little gargoyle head mouse to match or something..
I also found this quite a while back, how's this for a bizarre PC mod?
Yes that beaver is the PC. here's article
Also to compliment it what about a mouse mouse?

I thought that beaver picture was just a 'cute' setup shot with some miniature PC looking models, until I read that there was a mini PC stuffed into that thing....
The scale really threw me.
Hooray for the marvels of modern taxidermy? _________________

Hah, that's kind of disturbing though.
Now, that virgilius case is exquisite. Though, I wonder what the insulation is like in wood, doesn't it tend to trap alot of heat (even with all that lattice work)? _________________

Yeah great thread, I'm still trying to find this maniqin(sp?) one that i saw a few years back. It looked good at the time, but like graphics it could look crap to me now compared to these ones. Really liked the steam punk keyboard. _________________

Don't suppose you're talking about this, ittek?
"ERN005PC" (KANA)
If not, thats another cool PC case. Not really a 'case mod' so to speak, but a custom built enclosure for a mini PC setup. You can find a cool run-down of the production process for it (with photos) right here _________________

Pretty awesome but that's not it. The one i'm thinking of was more in a military get up and housed a normal PC innards. _________________

Ah, well keep up the search - this recent trip down PC hardware research lane has piqued my interest in fancy case-mods (etc.) _________________

i wasn't really sure whether to pop this here, since these are commercially available laptops, but whatever, i think they're pretty cool.
Alliance and Horde Dell XPS laptops:
they'll only set you back $4500USD, though that does include WoW, and Burning Crusade (both Collector's Editions), plus automatic entry to all future WoW betas. _________________

Heh, only just noticed the Half-Life brand Beef Chilli in my own post..
But for a serious Wow gamer, that laptop would be good. What are the specs? _________________

The XPS M1730 World of Warcraft edition laptop will come in either Horde or Alliance packs featuring original artwork on the desktop backgrounds, screen savers and the case itself.
Each system will come with a World of Warcraft backpack packed with all kinds of WoW goodies including:
WoW & Burning Crusade in retail boxes
Strategy Guides
Behind the Scenes, "The Making of WoW" DVD
WoW & Burning Crusade Paperback Novels
WoW Audio Soundtrack
Customers will also receive a Quest Envelope which includes surprise items from Dell & Blizzard (ships separate from system). Items include:
Blizzard beta key card w/ five keys used to access future WoW games
An upgrade certificate which allows customers to upgrade their accounts to a "Collectors Edition Account" enabling them to get a special in-game pet
Golden Ticket which allows customers to get a pre-paid special custom action figure based on their own in-game WoW character.
Besides the fancy backpack of goodies and the neato WoW art, the laptop is still an M1730 on the inside, which is a very good thing. Here's just a taste of the slick laptop's specs:
o DX10 SLI graphics
o World's first & only notebook available w/ an Ageia mobile PhysX processor
o Over-clockable Extreme Edition Core 2 Duo processors
o Dual RAID 0 7200 RPM HDDs - or 64GB Solid State Drive options
o 7ms display response time
o Full-size illuminated keyboard w/ separate numeric keypad
o 16-color user-customizable lighting areas including the backlit touchpad
o Wireless connectivity w/ built-in Mobile Broadband, Wireless-N, Bluetooth and Dell's Wi-Fi catcher
o Blu-ray optional
o Built-in camera & digital array microphones
o Built-in Logitech GamePanel above keyboard (first in the industry on a notebook) _________________

^ that's the basic sales pitch.
the full thing can be seen here.
the default specs are:
*Intel® Core⢠2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache)
*2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
*512MB Dual NVIDIAĀ® GeForceĀ® 8700M GT with NVIDIAĀ® SLIĀ®
*Speed: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
*CD / DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
*IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945 a/g Mini Card
*2.0 Audio
*Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
most of it is upgradeable, it's possible to get it to over $8000USD.
man i wish i had that much money to waste... i probably wouldn't buy one of these, but it'd be nice to have the luxury of seriously considering it. _________________
