but that's the thing, you don't need to sign up if all you want to do is lurk and read. I lurked here for months just reading the forums before I actually signed up.
It has always struck me as odd the amount of people who join forums yet never actually post.

Signing up to lurk would be pointless, since you can read every thread on here anyway without being signed in. I know I'll do it if I just want to check a thread quickly or visit the forums without boring people with my rubbish.
Anyway, that number did go up quite fast I have to say. It's a good thing to be sure but it's a shame the amount of people posting hasn't really increased all that much. But then again maybe not since this community is pretty damn rocking.

When dealing with numbers it is an abbreviation for 'Kilo', meaning one thousand. Or so claims the Online Etymology Dictionary.

At this rate im pridicting there will be 10,000 members by Christmas
note that First entry is 17 March 2002.
The Trend-line (in red) looks like its on track for 11,000 by the 6 Year anniversary.
And yes i realize i just created a graph for no real reason, lets just say I crave projects now that I'm out of school.
