I just saw this, we now have 9000 members.
Hard to believe how much this place has grown over the last 18 months... _________________

It was only yesterday that we were celebrating the 1000th member...
*a small tear drops*
*sniff*
Yay, for so many people joining up. Although we're actually about 34 people more than what is said at the bottom of the forums

Damnit. I was eye-balling that for the last few weeks too. Who is the lucky devil?
The offer still stands that if this person reaches 1000 posts I'll give them my Vice City badge set valued at $2000 (by myself).

Yeah, that's a shocker... sorry
Can you imagine what it'd be like if even a quarter of the signed up members were regular posters? Madness! _________________

You'd be surprised how many people sign up just to lurk. I'd like to know how many people simply sign in to read the forums. _________________

but that's the thing, you don't need to sign up if all you want to do is lurk and read. I lurked here for months just reading the forums before I actually signed up.
It has always struck me as odd the amount of people who join forums yet never actually post. _________________

Maybe they sign up to enter competitions? Or to receive weekly emails... which may include info on current/upcoming competitions? _________________

Signing up to lurk would be pointless, since you can read every thread on here anyway without being signed in. I know I'll do it if I just want to check a thread quickly or visit the forums without boring people with my rubbish.
Anyway, that number did go up quite fast I have to say. It's a good thing to be sure but it's a shame the amount of people posting hasn't really increased all that much. But then again maybe not since this community is pretty damn rocking. _________________

When dealing with numbers it is an abbreviation for 'Kilo', meaning one thousand. Or so claims the Online Etymology Dictionary. _________________

9000 ay?
At this rate im pridicting there will be 10,000 members by Christmas
note that First entry is 17 March 2002.
The Trend-line (in red) looks like its on track for 11,000 by the 6 Year anniversary.
And yes i realize i just created a graph for no real reason, lets just say I crave projects now that I'm out of school.
EDIT: Old Graph stretched the page _________________
