Err, no.
Microsoft didn't exactly show off much new stuff (apart from the Halo 360), everything else was pretty much already shown before. Add to that the fact that Microsoft and Sony seem to be focusing more on pimping 3rd party titles than their own, you are left with very average shows. |
So they showed games that the audience watching would want? Automatic win. _________________

What's with Nintendo putting random youtube-rs into their montage? Overall Nintendo's conference felt directed towards investors and non-gamers, the exact people NOT watching E3.
Disappointments:
*no new traditional IPs offered by Nintendo.
*no online for Brawl (doesn't really affect me, affects others)
*no footage of Disaster Day or Pikmin 3.
*The big announcement (WiiFit) sucks.
Good parts:
*32 people online in MoH
*constantly changing settings (gravity and such) in SMG.
*Zapper
*Iwata and Miyamoto are funny guys. Reggie was giving me a death stare for no reason... _________________

Nintendo are becoming like reality TV for me....in other words...a reason I might stop gaming altogether. I just don't like where the market might be heading (too much shallow and casual crap). They do have a couple of awesome titles in the bag (Galaxy) but their main focus isn't anything like the games I was playing on any of their previous consoles.
Also for the record the first 2 games I ever played were Pong and then Ghost & Goblins on arcade....and I couldn't give a damn what people thought of my habit back then nor do I give a damn what people think now. Infact I find that most of my hobbies tend to lose my interest once they become mainstream because the experience is usually cheapened by those just invovled purely to make money and not because of the passion they have towards said industry.
This is great news for Nintendo and i'm happy that they are doing well (they really do deserve a lot of success) but just not happy that their focus has shifted quite a lot and I guess in a way Sony are kinda to blame for it because they really have been quite relentless in the traditional market so it's only understandable that Nintendo seek a different type of demographic to target their new products towards.
One thing that really sticks out for me is PC gaming remained as nerdy and as pure to the artform as I can see and it might be wise for me to get back into PC gaming because it doesn't seem to be too affected by commercialism.
In other words there was nothing (except for galaxy) in that conference that impressed me, infact almost all of it I hated. _________________
