Downloaded Crash and I must I am impressed how well it works on both the PSP and PS3. It's easy enough to copy across and use. I still wish the games were a bit smaller though (Crash is 450 mb). Surely they could compress it a bit more or something.
The problem I see with the PS1 games is most of the games have better/updated sequels etc on PS2 etc. Like Tekken, Wipeout etc. I mean why would anybody buy Wipeout for the PS1 when the PS2 and PSP have better verisons? And I can't see Square-Enix releasing any titles any time soon onto either the Nintendo VC or PSN.
Does anybody have any particular 'must haves' for the PS1 games they'd like to see up on the PSN? _________________ Shin J Leon.

I cant remember if it was on ps1 or not. But i would love to see the original Grand theft auto games. The old top down ones, for fun.

I copied Crash across to my PSP the other night and it ran faster than it does on the PS3. That coupled with the sub-par d-pad made it a frustrating experience trying to play the game.
Not happy about that, but I guess I'll just stick to playing it on the PS3 in future. _________________

While that is a cool bit of info for those that don't already know... what has it got to do with PSX games running on the PSP/PS3? _________________

I thought it was just me, but you are correct, it does run slightly faster on the PSP. The music at the start is faster. Hrmm. Which is the correct speed?
I agree about the d-pad. The PSP d-pad is an abomination. I have never had control issues like the PSP d-pad since the Atari 2600. It's so bad. You'd have thought they would have added analogue stick support. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I'm assuming that it is running fast on the PSP, but without an original copy to test against all that is is speculation. Eitherway I think it runs excellently on the PS3 and that's good enough for me right now. If it is a PSP issue heres hoping that they address it in a firmware update sooner rather than later. _________________

^ Pity they can't fix that dodgy d-pad with a firmware update.
I think it runs great on the PSP though. I was impressed. It looks better because it's scaled down and the textures don't look as blurry/sharp. _________________ Shin J Leon.

well ff7 is a must have title for me no the ps1, as said before having games like tekken/wipeout sequels on the other platforms might be a bit useless. so this would be one of the few games i would be looking foward too.
i just hope they dont only let ps1 games be playable on the psp, hopefully they can pump out some things which is new and also be played on both platforms. _________________

All 'OMG LOL PSX LOW-RES FUNNEH' business aside, Snake definately had a visible face in MGS. He also looked awesome beating the snot out of guards while wearing a tuxedo. _________________

No, I'm pretty sure it's a pixel mess. The opening scene where you go up the elevator was a rather shock factor to me. It was a sharp polygon man without any definable features. _________________ Shin J Leon.

These screenshots (one two) beg to differ. Although it isn't as detailed as my fond memories led me to believe, that is still very clearly a face. Even in this shot where the camera is further out you can make out the nose, mouth fairly easily.
It's odd seeing a young snake again though, thats for sure. _________________

They are not PS1 in-game shots. They are Bleamcast or Windows emulation (was it released on the PC?) of some kind. I have never seen a PS1 game look so 'clean'.
Take those shots and pixel them up a heap. Then you got the PS1 verison. _________________ Shin J Leon.

You're right, but they're the only shots I could find that were of a decent viewable size. Eitherway, chunky or not you can still see enough details there to get a good enough impression of a face IMO. Granted you don't get much more than some shading to show where the main facial features sit, but I don't think that the face specifically is any more of a 'chunky pixel mess' than the rest of the game.
Sorry, this is all terribly pedantic - but this is an Internet forum, and I am bored _________________

And yeah, I got it a while back from there - the non players choice version. I tried playing it how I remember playing it on the PSX and got my arse handed to me by the MGS2 AI >.< _________________
