Nintendo are holding their first connection tour for 2007 very soon. It looks to be Pokemon Diamond and Pearl centred (for obvious reasons), and should be a great event, as the previous ones have been. I'm thinking of going to the Southland one, like I usually do.
So, who's planning on going to one (or more) of the events all around the country? To help everyone get organised, I'll compose a list of people who will be going and where, as I can see some people are more interested in going if there will be other people from PALGN there, which makes sense of course.

So, willl most people who are going have a copy of the game? I bought a copy of Diamond yesterday so that I can join in (plus the game looks great), and I'm wondering how many other people already have a copy, or will have a copy by the time the tour starts.

haha it will be interesting if Ninty checks peoples copies and bans people with overseas versions

I'll be going. One of my friends(and his Pokemon buddies) imported the games. I think his team are already at lv100 or whatever the highest level is. I'll be tagging along with him and some other buddies, not really for the Pokemon but to check out some demo pods. I rekon that they'll have a few demos to download as well.

 I'd be very surprised if that happened, to say the least. I mean, why would they ban them anyway, it's still a sale for them, as long as it was bought. If you were using some kind of illegal device however, that that would be a different story. 
Daniel Primed: Level 100 already?  Now that's the sort of thing that should be banned, though as scythian_reaper was saying, they might have a system that regulates all level to keep things even, so that it comes down to skill. Anyway, there should be some good demos there as always, there's always been downloadable ones every time I've been.

Actually no its not a sale for Ninty of Australia, it's a sale for someone else. I remember reading on this very forum that Ninty wasn't liking people importing the new Pokemons, so this might be the reason why they will check the games.

Well, it's a sale for Nintendo, you'd think they'd be happy with that. What oes it matter where it was bought, as long as it was bought (aside from them making more money if it were bought here I suppose, darn high prices)? Anyway, it would be stupid to ban them, they'd probably be banning most of the people who come along if they did.

He's aware of the rules, I guess it won't take him long to train up another team. Hmmmm I don't think that they'll have any sort of system in place. Much like the last tour its likely to be just standard wireless play offs emulated to a large screen.

Cool. Never been to one of these events. Not many in australia : - (. Sadly, there will not be any event pokemon there abd i just found out that event pokemon come in a special ball.

Probably. I hope the don't change anything from last year, I liked the whole thing to it, even through it was really small, I hope it's not too foocused on Pokemon.

i might goto the Carousel one, but i have no interest in Pokemon, so if i hear from the other events that it's purely pokemon (or even 50+% pokemon) then i'll probably skip it.

Just payin a quick visit back to palgn to see who was coming to DS tour.
I'll definately be there one of the Southland days - hopefully both. I won't be playing pokemon though, I'll be there with Metroid Prime: Hunters, looking for some multi-card play.

Same. Great to hear that you're coming along, it should be a great event, I'm planning to get in on a bit of the pokemon action myself.
ObsoletE: Slim chance of that, the event is being held around the fact that Diamond and Pearl are being released here, you can tell it's going to be all about the pokemon, with only a small amount of other stuff.
