Well, Hybrid Theory the EP has six tracks of awesome on it, Hybrid Theory the album has 12 tracks of pretty good. The EP was also under their old band name of (wait for it) Hybrid Theory. Very hard to acquire these days, but still good if you can.

I've been collecting the ciphers, and we can meet LINKIN PARK if we win now. Can someone help me find the rest? according the to blog theres only 2 left. also found this article on another site..
| Quote: | A chance to talk to Linkin Park and much more!!
Attention to all Linkin Park Fans out there,
There are 17 ciphers to collect and 15 of them have already been released, the 16th and 17th will be unleashed very soon. 17 individual codes are hidden throughout Minutes To Midnight communications in Australia ranging from TV ads, Radio, Print, Online and the physical world. If you are an overseas fan, then you can get hints and clues from the BLOG (http://minutestomidnight.wordpress.com/).
When all Ciphers have been collected and cracked, quickly enter them in the correct order to the Official Linkin Park Site for Australia (http://www.minutestomidnight.com.au/).
The first person to crack all 17 becomes the Alpha user, the next 100 are Beta users. The Linkin Park Prize Pack includes a limited edition tin box set unavailable in Australia, a Jumper, T-shirt, posters… the list goes on. Oh and one other thing, how about the chance to talk to the band!
Also due to the popularity around the world we have decided to offer O/S fans the chance to win some prizes too! So get involved! |

I had a listen to the album on the weekend and to be honest I'm a little disappointed. Although musically the group have evolved ludicrously since Meteora (the tracks have a bit more technical playing involved rather than just power chord city).
The elements which made them Linkin Park have been lost in the rearrange. Shinoda has shifted back into the producerial aspect of the band it seems, moving to writing as opposed to performing. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I did like the dynamic of Chester and Mike's two very different vocal styles. Hahn also seems a little absent on this album which is disappointing I've always loved his scratches approach to DJing, his solo tracks have been my favourites on the previous albums. So his disappearance is all the more felt.
I won't write the album off yet though. Like I said, musically it is so far advanced from where Linkin Park were I'm amazed it's still the same band, and Chester is getting better and better every year. So I'll keep listening and just hope that in their next effort they culminate the old with the new a bit.

My mate leant me his copy of Minutes to Midnight the other day which enabled me to put it onto my iTunes. After giving it one whole listen through I'm not overly impressed but in saying I'm not too dissapointed either, as someone pointed out they've seemed to evolve musically, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing I'm not sure. It feels like one of those albums that eventually grows on you but in saying it probably won't be the album of the year. _________________

I can understand why there is so much hate aroud about LP on the internet. But I have liked all of their albums. I have grown out of their older stuff(like other people) but this new stuff has sparked my interest once again. Its much easier to listen to.
Some of the new songs are great some less so. I don't think that they have hit the mark here. But hopefully they'll do that in the future. _________________

that cipher promotion has found a winner, yet still other stuff to be won.

Is there anywhere legally that I can listen to this new album, by any chance? I've enjoyed their previous releases but like most have grown out of them and as such I'm quite unsure whether I want this album or not. So yeah, is there? Maybe listening to it will help decide whether I get it or not. _________________

Nah, I think that they are keen to continue developing their new sound and it would be a waste as they are 1/2 way there really. _________________

You do realise that Chester happens to scream in a few of the songs on this album don't you? I also don't blame him for not screaming anymore. Do you know how bad it is for our throat? You can lose your voice, get throat infections and also because of how much you have force the scream out it sometimes causing the throat to get cut up and start bleeding. _________________
