Gradia 2? Or Grandia 2? Cause if you mean the latter of the two then no. I have not played the PS2 version. But I have played the DC version. And it was good. So if they improved it since then you better buy it. It wasnt as lengthy as FFX. But it is worth the attention. _________________

I've heard that there is very little in the way of improvements in the PS2 version.
I actually managed to pick up a second hand DC + VMU + used copy of game for around the same price as the PS2 price tag. This had the added bonus of being able to pick up Skies of Arcadia and Jet Set Radio at the same time
YMMV

I will say, if you want to play Grandia II, you gotta get a DC and play the original. Its the only way to go. _________________

I've heard the PAL release of Grandia II for PS2 is better than the US one, but I can't find a site listing the differences - anyone know anything about this?

Apparently, the PS2 port of Grandia II is absolutely shocking. Major graphic and sound problems apparently. _________________

Since I posted before I've been trawling through messages at the Gamefaqs board for grandia II. Apparently the graphical slowdown glitches that were in the US release were removed by Enix for the JP release. Ubisoft based the PAL release on the JP game engine with the US translation - so we get the version that works as it should
I find myself curiously amused by the fact that we get an RPG that actually plays faster than the US version
