I thought I'd make and official thread regarding the two new DS Pokemon titles, Diamond and Pearl.
for those that already have it, which did you get, Diamond or Pearl? What starter Pokemon did you choose? How are you finding it so far? And how are you finding it after all these years?

Diamond. I chose the water pokemon, which I know reckon was a mistake, it doesn't seem all that strong in attack.
Still it's the same awesomness all true pokemon games have been. The limited pokemon to begin with is refreshing, otherwise choice of what to catch becomes too much.
In previous games I don't remember being 10 hours in with only 2 badges, though I think I'm taking a little more time this time around. All the new additions are good from what I've seen and the addition of online, once everyone gets the game, will make it that much better. _________________

While it won't be happening until our Australian release, I personally will be picking up Diamond. As for my starter Pokemon, chances are I'll choose the Water one purely because I always have done so in previous games. Well, except Yellow for obvious reasons. _________________

I've grabbed (well, not physically 'grabbed' as it isn't here yet) Pearl, and will be going with the water Pokemon (that makes 4/4) as I always do. _________________

I got Diamond from DVD Crave and it arrived today. I chose the water starter because the other two looked stupid and I like penguins and blue <_<
The game so far... I dunno I'm not very far in. All I can say is whoever decided on the font/colour for the attack names in battles was a complete blind fool. _________________

I allways get the water Pokemon, but this time it's a tough choice. I mean a fire monkey and a turtle that grows a tree on its shell! How freikin sweet is that. Decisions, decissions. _________________

Fire? MONKEY? Let me guess it's called...
Fire Monkey? No, Funky! Genius! Those pokemans have done it again.
I've made my choice. Funky the Fire Monkey! I choose you!
Does he have a flaming doody throw attack? If so, I shall label this new pokemon game the greatest of all time. If not, it shall be the most tragic missed opportunity of all time. _________________

I ordered Pokemon Pearl on Japanese launch.
I chose the water pokemon, I sorta still use it in my teams sometimes.
I have 400+ in my pokedex, and I hope to expand on that once it gets released in Australia.

If you've never played a Pokemon game, are they easy to get into? _________________

very easy... you get addicted quite easily... and judging by what everyone has said, all of their addictions (which they thought had buried a long time ago back when they were kids) have come back to haunt them!
they are quite good but i would borrow one of the older ones of a friend just to get the idea of it all _________________

Pokemon might look daunting at first, with so many types, etc. to remember. But once you get one pokemon, the rest play basically the same, with the addition of a few minor tweak with each game.
It is a really easy pick up and play game.

omglolme2 we're like twins.
I'm starting to hype for this now, can't wait to get thrashed by everyone. I know next to nothing about it too (save a few screens in Famitsu and the intro), so it'll all be nice and fresh. _________________

I just got my 4th badge. Have all starters
Here's a cool tip:
After you get your first badge, go to the GTS in the first big city. Offer something common like a bidoof for a starter that you don't have and bam someone kind should trade you one. Works great! _________________

Global Trade [something] (Station?)
I've heard Japanese players will accept pretty much anything with an English name. Hooray for language confusion! _________________

My Pearl arrived today from DVDCrave. About 4 hours in with 1 badge, really enjoying it. I chose the fire monkey, how can you not love the little fella? _________________

the final evolution is pretty kool, i suggest you goto the gts straight away, and put a crappy pokemon up for the other 2 starters, its well worth it _________________

I find it quite ironic that you are happy to state that you loved the Pokemon games on the Gameboy Color and also that you're interested in buying either Diamond or Pearl and yet, you were quick to call Harry Potter something for kids in the Harry Potter thread... _________________

I have just realised the Wireless on my router isn't even putting out a signal. I'm going to have to do something about this. How much is the Wi-Fi dongle?
