Zone of the Enders 2 didn't work icon_sad.gif and when I went to play the Blast Factor demo I ended up in a blank screen icon_sad.gif.

hi everybody,

i checked out the following games with 1.70, all of them didn't work before the update:

bully: seems to run like a charm, no problems saving either

mercenaries: ran fine up to the end of the first mission. upon returning to the HQ it froze. Related to autosaving?

Gran Turismo 4: still not working. MY HDTV flashes when I boot the game, then stays black. Interesting because several ppl here in the forum reported it to be working. My product code for GT4 is SCES 51719. Anybody else with that code (it's on the spine of the game box) has it working? CORRECTION: I found out this is a resolution change issue. I am running my Sharp 46 XD1E in 1080p, sometimes it switches to PAL progressive normally when booting a PS2 game, sometimes it doesn't. This is not tilte dependant. So GT4 WORKS for me!

The following titles would not even load under 1.6, but are now loading under 1.7:

.hack//Infection
.hack//Outbreak
.hack//Quarantine
(but .hack//Mutation does not work - strange)
Amplitude
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Neo Contra
Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary
Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked and Loaded
Rez
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
Smugglers Run
SSX
Taito Legends 1

I havent tested the quality of the games - only that they can load.

To everyone giving us updates (especially the newbies), good work. Its much appreciated.

I must say, Sony are making a good fist of this emulation affair. Now all we need is some upscaling icon_pray.gif

That's a negative on Jak and Daxter, sadly.

Sony still hasn't updated their list to show the v1.70 games that work, but I can confirm thecompatibility of these titles that aren't on the old list -

Gran Turismo 4 SCES 51719
Jurassic Park Operation Genesis SLES 51354
Ratchet & Clank SCES 50916/P
Star Wars Super Bombad Racing SLES 50204

Which is great and all - but the only one game I really wanted them to add is the one that seems to fall by the wayside! I loved that game, it was so much more fun and innocent than its sequels. Oh well, the waiting game continues.

Props to Sony for continuing work up to now at least.

On the PS3, it sounds like the voltage is running at 1.21 jigawatts. Scared the loving bejeezus out of me. icon_eek.gif

Lol, Back to the Future reference? icon_lol.gif I quite enjoyed it. Now Sony just need to invent the Flux Capacitor. icon_wink.gif Apologies for being off topic, but I had to give kudos.

WOOT JP!!!! LOL I'm almost ashamed to say it but I love that game. Was kind of sad it didn't work initially but seems like Sony heard my (silently embarrassed) prayers.

I've noticed that a few of my games that were on the list as working with 1.60 are now removed from the 1.70 bc list now that the site has updated. Anyone else found any such problem?

Oi! Guitar Hero I and II are on the updated list!

Has anyone tried them out with (a) the PS2 Guitar + USB PS2 adapter or (b) the 360's USB guitar?

This would be absolutely rocking if it worked. icon_smile.gif

Exactly what I was gonna ask. I put in GH and it works, though there was an issue with mine freezing if I let it try and play the intro video. Looks like I might just take the plunge and test out the usb adaptor myself.

And I checked, Suikoden V worked just fine before the update up to 1.7, and afterward it became incompatible. Super.

Any progress with getting GH/GH2 to work on the PS3 yet?

I ordered an adaptor Monday but it hasn't shipped yet, anyone know if gameswarehouse is usually this slow?

-----------------------------------------------------

Never mind them, I headed out today and found adaptors (both control and memory) at gametraders.

Depending on what level you look at it, Guitar Hero's guitar peripheral does work using the usb adaptor. There's a big big however attached; however while once you finally manage to convince the ps3 that it's a legit control pad - few of the buttons work and less work how they are meant to. Forget pressing the green button for example, that one don't work. Up and down is still fine, start and (I assume) select are normal, but that's it. There are buttons that act as green and red, but green and red they aren't. Load up a song and you can hit whatever you want cause it'll all have the same result. Besides start, which you will hit because you will quit in disgust.

I have heard though that it is supposed to work properly on GH1 and not 2. I tried both today, with both different guitars, but perhaps there's some further trickery involved so if anything better happens I'll be sure to fill you in. And in case anyone's wondering, memory card adaptor works just fine. It is a US one but that doesn't matter at all.
