Why isn't Capcom publishing it? And I'm assuming no word on pricing?

Hey neato, I wasn't expecting it to come out so soon - let alone so soon in Europe! Obviously they not too far from completion when it was announced

As much as it runs contrary to my general dislike of the idea of buying (virtually) the same game again, I am really looking forward to picking this up. That cheesey ad did wonders as a 'proof of concept' for me, and now I just can't wait to vomit out one-liners while knee-capping villagers with the Wii-Remote icon_smile.gif

Extra Wii related bonuses in addition to the Wiimote controls?

Damn you Nintendo, you're gonna make me go and spend money on a game that I have right there in the next room, aren't you?

Please make it $80 or less at least, don't make me spend $100 on it again.

So that would mean $70 here?

Yeah, I'd hit that.

Hmmm... Well since Nintendo's publishing in Europe there's every chance that they'll boost the price to 100 bucks. That quoted price is for the Capcom published edition in America.

As for the fast conversion, I assume it's because the game has already been localized for PAL regions, the devs only need to add extra instructions for the control system.

I can just imagine the sheer number of people who are gonna get this game and already have the GC/PS2/crappy PC version. I hope lots of new guys also get this game, they really need to experience this masterpiece.

Although Europe and Australia are both in the PAL region we do tend to get games a bit after them. So it's not guranteed that it'll be out for us on the 29th of June.

Capcom are not a publisher in PAL, they are sub-distributed. Activision are their new Australian publisher, but Nintendo have the option to distribute Capcom games on their own platforms if they want.

So apart from worse graphics than the Gamecube, what extra features did the PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 have over the Gamecube's Collector's Edition?

I heard there is an Ada Wong sidequest. Is this missing from the GC edition?

Is it just me, or is "Umbrella Chronicles" a very funny name?

And it won't be a budget title, its too good for that.

Umm no...just the same extras that came with the Ps2 version and Wii specific controls....nothing else.

After careful consideration i've decided I might give this a miss because I can't see myself playing it again (not enough time)....but knowing me i'll see the Resident Evil boxart, squeal like a little girl and then pick it up without a second thought.

I hope this time you don't have to play through the whole game again to unlock the Ada Wong Scenario.....cuz that's all I really wanna see (also have ps2 version but don't think it's worth playing through a downgraded version for this feature).

Also the extras that were in the Ps2 version over the GCN version (that are subsequently going to be in the Wii version) include the Ada Wong Scenario and a new laser gun.

This is fantastic as I never played the GCN original, and really wanted a complete package with the PS2 extras but with the GCN graphics.

And I'm desperate for a good game to play on my Wii right now - desperate I tells ya!

I nabbed the GC original off eBay for $100 collectors edition a while ago.. its a good game but i dont really like the controls for shooting etc.

Hopefully the Wii port will have better controls and maybe use the WIImote for aiming and firing.. it is a great game, im about half way through. People that never played it on PS2 or GC will be in for a treat, thats for sure!

Its like press a button to aim and look around just like Gears but without being able to move. How could you find that bad control wise? icon_razz.gif

Ill probably get a Wii when this gets released. Stuff getting the console for Zelda, RE4 all the way!

The article used to say "Wii specific bonuses' implying more than just controls.

With this new inclusion of resident evil 4 on the wii do you think that we will see a resident evil 5? I know that it is coming to all the major next gen platforms (ps3 and the 360) but where does that leave the wii and RE5? I have wondered this for a while now. Obviously the wii cant create the graphics that of the 360 and ps3 so will they make a decreased version of the game or forget it overall? I have no doubt in my mind that Capcom will make good on the controls aspect of the game but with everything else im not sure.

That's why we haven't seen RE5 for a while - it's coming to Wii... just kidding. Though with that said...

Nah, from the press release for UC it said that game will be in two halves. My theory is that the first half will be first person light gun parts(0,1,2,3,CV,4) and the second half is the section between CV and 4 - where you actually go into Umbrella. Maybe this part will be RE4 style, and maybe another whole game. Just speculation.

I'm so giddy over Resi Evil right now...
