|
|

|
i just got my PS3 yesterday and signed up online for network play and everythign along those lines, i have a profile and all that, but im just wondering if it is possible to play PS2 games that have network compatability online through the PS3? if so how?
i have TIF2005 and it says that a profile cant be found on my PS2 memory card, so how can i get this to work?
I never had my PS2 online as i had an old one, so i want to play online with my PS2 now!
Is this possible?

yes its possible BUT you'll have to find a game that can create a network setting save on the virtual memory card the ps3 creates
i used star wars battlefront 2 to make one (apparently one of the socom games does it aswell) or if you can track it down get the network disc for the ps2 _________________

^ He speaks the truth. I remember reading about this on the Playstation website, I'm really happy about it. It means that people who don't have a slimline PS2 (such as me) can easily play their online PS2 games online! Yay. _________________

On a side note, it would probably be a wasted effort if you're only going to try TIF 2005. I'd say a 98% chance that no one else would be logged in to play against you (unless you have a friend who has the same game and will meet you online). Either that or the servers have vanished by now due to lack of activity.

unfortunately no, i tried searching when i first found out by default you can't play them and came up with nothing
so i just began trying all my ps2 games which had online mode, and it was just a fluke i had one with the network settings thing
do u have any other online games you haven't tried yet? or if you really want to, why not hire out star wars battlefront 2 from your local video games/dvd hire place?

the only other one i have is Formula One 2005 which isn't compatable with PS3 yet, so i might have to go rent star wars

there is another way but it would require some lying from your behalf , e-mail sony and tell them you have a slim line ps2, they give you the network disc for free (though they may ask you to give them your serial number which would cause trouble)
