I picked up King Kong today (360) at Harvey Norman for $30. Holy crap, this game is amazing. I would never have thought it would be this good. The sounds is absouletly brillant the graphics very nice.
I'm not a fan of King Kong in general, but the parts where you fight as Kong are breath taking.
Sersiouly, the movie should have been the game! It's really good! _________________ Shin J Leon.

I loved it so much I bought it on PS2 and Xbox, havent got around to getting it on 360 yet though. Its awesome how theres no huds or health bars or anything on the screen - it makes it almost like your playing out a movie and I also loved the graphics. _________________

Where'd you get King Kong on 360 for that price? I loved the PS2 versions, and when a giant T-Rex goes after you and all you have is a spear.. _________________

^ Yeah that was my fave bit in the game. Its the bit when you have to get the rexs attention and then run like hell to the cave right? That bit was actually pretty frightening haha

Heh....I actually picked it up from Chatswood for $20 almost 2 months ago (brand new).
I originally played it on the first Xbox and I enjoyed it. Thought it was a bit short however. The spear throwing is awesome. It looks really good on the 360 and the V-Rex bits are amazing.
Also you can turn the HUD or the crosshairs on in the options. I've played through the Xbox version without any of that stuff but I actually like having the HUD (so I can see how many bullets i've got left) so i've currently got that turned on as I play through the 360 version.
Oh yea also....you know the stage 'V-Rex'? I think it's stage number 4....anyways you start off and it's pouring down with rain and there is thunder and lightning.....yea well lately just before I goto bed I turn the game on, skip to stage 4 and just leave it there with all the rain sounds etc while I goto sleep. The only problem with this is the 360 doesn't turn itself off after 6 hours (cuz you're obviously in a a game) so I have to do that sometime in the middle of the night (some nights i've left it on the whole time). Anyways it's awesome stuff....heaps relaxing and it's replaced the title screen of Brotherhood of the Wolf as my rain sleeping sounds. _________________

It was (maybe still is?) $20 at the Toys 'R Us clearance that was going on. I got my copy and I know a lot of PALGNers also did around the country. Personally I thought it was terrible except the Kong parts but it was worth the 20 at least.
I just couldn't stand some of the sections where you have no ammo and are hunting around for spears. Just very very linear I guess, especially when they repeat the same puzzle in almost every level (finding a lever) - very uninspired and boring by the end. _________________

I rented this for the 360 a while ago and it's got to be one of the best movie licensed games to come along in awhile. Really fun game but it's over all to quick _________________

Those were the best parts, surviving on spears.
But yeah the city level was meh and I never realised that they keep making you find a lever it's just part of the experience for me. _________________

Oh man, you listen to rain sound effects to go to sleep with?
That's totally awesome! Why didn't I ever think of that? I love the rain but unfortunately it doesn't rain all that often in Canberra, let alone when I'm trying to get to sleep so yeah I need to start doing this.
With regards to the actual game, I have always been interested in it. A lot of people buy it/rent it because it's an easy 1000 Gamerscore but yeah I have always been interested in the game regardless of that. I do intend on picking it up one day too but it just hasn't happened yet for whatever reason. _________________

^ hehe....yea some people think it's strange....but I love the rain...it's really relaxing....and I dunno....it seems to me like when it's raining I feel at peace because the rest of the world (or wherever it's raining) are doing exactly the same thing as me....as in trying to stay dry. I dunno...it's hard to explain but it seems like the world is putting everyone in their place when it rains....I dunno...i'll shutup now.
There is a whole bunch tapes/cds you can get with all this sort of stuff. More focus on thunderstorms and rainforests etc there are heaps but I like making or finding my own.....something about a manufactured tape....yea I know i'm weird.
Actually i'll tell you something heaps weird.....when I load up the rain stage on king kong I put the character under cover so he doesn't get wet!! haha! No seriously.... _________________

Listening to rain-type noises to sleep isn't weird. Using your 360 to get those noises is weird. Being able to hear rain noise over the 360's fans is weird. _________________

Well previously like I said I was using the title screen of Brotherhood of the Wolf....but the rain and thunder in King Kong is a lot louder and has more variety. And yea I crank it....i can sleep through anything....especially nice loud rain/thunder.
My 360 isn't that loud, much louder than the Ps3 yes....but I definately can't hear it when i've got any movie/game playing. This may have to do with the volume I have it on....but it's never been a problem for me. _________________

Well after reading this thread, I have made the purchase off of Leon. Finished with the game that quickly?
Oh well, for the price I'll go for it. For the experience and the quick points!

It's a top, but short game. I'm happy I played it because it seriously has some of the best gaming moments I've seen in a long time. _________________ Shin J Leon.

i wouldnt have expected this game to be as good as it is
from what i was told Peter Jackson approached the developers becuase he liked 1 of their previous games alot so i think they really tried to make a great game for him. I like it better than the movie.

I found the game better than the film. I hated the film, but enjoyed the game. But I also paid $100 for it. eek. _________________

I personally am not a fan of the game. The main part I didn't like was the darkness of the game sometimes made it impossible to tell where you were meant to be going, especially if you lost track of the AI controlled character. The best part was using Kong when you're hauling ass along the side of the cliffs and swinging from the branches.

Yeah I havn't found it to be very exciting. I've found it to be more of a chore than anything. It looks like a original Xbox game, is glitchy as, and just isn't that much fun.
But I'll finish it off and see how I go. 1000 achievement points, FtW!

Do you have a HD TV Jim? I found the game to be flat out brillant at times. At the start of a level, you'd swear it was a painting. I think the graphics (maybe not on a SD TV) are still up there with todays standards. And the sounds, whoa!!!
I didnt' find it to be glitchy at all. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Second that leon, besides the characters models, which are a tad low poly and sporting some 'fake' skin textures and such, the game is a moving oil painting. It is incredible. The jungle is top notch, though a few more daytime levels to space out the constant twilight would be nice.
Very good game.I LOVE having no hud.Not a single thing on screen, nothing, not even a lil square for health or a lil ammo counter, nothing.Very, very immersive. _________________
