The one year Xbox 360 birthday offer ends on April 6th.

However, it is still possible to pick up the Xbox 360 Gears of War bundle for $639. This deal should be running all the way through April as well as the $689 deal which is the Xbox 360 Gears of War bundle plus the inclusion of Dead or Alive 4 and Project Gotham Racing 3. If anyone goes into a JB Hi-Fi store and doesn't see either deal, go find the Games Advisor and tell whoever it is that they are not doing their job.

I have been running these three deals since mid-March and will continue these deals throughout April.

For that price I would make the three hour drive to the closest JB just to buy it. I kid you not. It is times like this I am reminded of just how far away from civilization I live. Fortunately, that is also a good thing. I hate civilization most of the time, but damn if they do not get the bargains.

ZNMS - so is the birthday offer supposed to be the GoW purchased on its own for whatever you're selling it for, then afterwards you add those three games for free by showing the newsletter? That's what the letter seems to suggest when it says the pack price is $699 RRP...

I bought this package last week and it's sweet.
Traded in my Xbox and 10 games into EB also and picked up extra controller, two charge packs, and GRAW2 along with a VGA cable which makes movies on my nice new 1080p tv look very nice.

I did think about holding out for the Elite but there was no way I was waiting 6 to 8 months for it just for the HDMI and bigger HD.

Still, at that price it's a bargain and I'm glad I bought it.
Crackdown is proving much more enjoyable that I thought.

Have you tried emailing MS for the 2 live arcade games? All I get is bounce messages telling me I'm trying to spam them icon_sad.gif

I didn't even know HOW to contact them about the live games. Was about to post about it in here.
I wasn't given anything telling me how to do it.

I just ended up buying Worms instead to play against some of my mates in the UK

Doesn't the email that everyone got say to send them an email and they will send the games to your 360 or something? Maybe you guys should just call the tech support and ask what the hell's going on.

I sent a support request via the xbox site about this today, maybe I'll hear back from that. I bet after all this they give me games I already own.

The address is gowoffer@xbox.com.au btw.

"Your codes for the 2 games will then be emailed back to you within 7 days once the receipt is validated."

If it was specific games you would think they'd say which ones. It's possible it just gives you a certain amount of points? Who knows.

On the other hand, I've heard of some people scoring this deal from JB for $639, since that is what they're currently selling the GoW pack for. I've rung around, and none of the JB people seem to think that the deal is anything less than $699, though the letter is ambiguous. Has anyone else come across this?

$699 itself is a great deal, but $639 is a steal and would be an automatic buy for me I reckon. icon_smile.gif

Yep I got it for $639. Just convinced them that it says RRP only....VERY happy. Great console as well.

They don't send you the games just a code for 1000 points. Pretty cool!

I sent my email last night - not sure if that's too late since the offer supposedly ended on 6/4 (unclear whether that applied to only the retail offer or the Live Arcade games too).

Anyway, it hasn't bounced so I'll wait a week and see what happens. At least a week is better than 45 days icon_wink.gif

Don't know about that - I emailed from a Gmail account with all the relevant info and receipt, and got my points the next business day. Not bad, great way to top off a great deal. I never thought I'd be this satisfied handing money over to Microsoft icon_smile.gif

Dude that deal is beyond fair. Like seriously I don't rate Crackdown, but the other 3 plus 2 XBLA games make it more than worth your while.

Yeah, it's all over now. Personally I've played crackdown way way more than the other games, it's the best exploration game I've played since GTA:SA

OK, I didn't know where to post this, so I'll post it here.

I'm strongly considering getting an Xbox 360, but not yet.

It's largely because of the 'Halo' series - I've never played any of the games, but they look fantastic, and after seeing the trailers for the new 'Halo 3', and that doco about it smultiplayer, I'm almost sold.

I'm planning on holding off a purchase for a while (will be selling a whole lot of the stuff I have around here to afford the Xbox 360, including, selling a PSP, my 'spare' DS, a Gameboy SP, a WHOLE bunch of games, etc.).

What I want to know is this:

I am aware that this year the Xbox 360 Elite comes out - now this looks like it's going to be good, but I was wondering if that would mean the price of the Platinum Xbox 360 would drop at all.

Has annybody heard about a price drop?

Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

I've read an article somewhere that the Core pack will be obsolete, the premium pack will become the new core pack and the elite will become the new premium pack.

In another article i read, the core pack will remain the core pack and the premium pack is gonna be obsolete leaving the elite pack to take the place of the premium pack.

So it may drop in price or either the premium will be obsolete.(unless you buy somewhere that stocks some left), This is according to the articles i read icon_razz.gif

Microsoft announced that the Core console will not be made obsolete and the Elite is just an extra package on top of the 2 already available. Or at least that's what was written in an article here.

I'm fairly impartial when it comes to the console war. When it comes to the elite however I'm left scratching my head. The PS3 with Blu-Ray drive is only 20 USD more than the Xbox 360 elite which features no next gen disk drive. To me the winner is pretty obvious there.
