I didn't say anything suggesting that telling someone to 'go jump' being a good way to act - just that the whole 'they should be fined' thing is a bit ludicrous.

WOW!

What a dramatic F@%K you ...I'm out.

The guy obviously had problems, and to broadcast it on the net shows that he was obviously unwell mentally and actually quite narcissistic.

Oh well plenty more fruitcakes on the net where he came from.

I wasn't trying to say that you were. I was just saying that the people that were egging him on were a**holes. You're post just happened to be before mine.

I second that icon_lol.gif

This is a tragic thing that has happened but the fact of the matter is this guy more like then not would of done this anyway. People egging him no or not. He was obviously having a hard time in life and instead of working through it he took what he saw as the the easy way out. It's a sad thing but unfortunately it dose happen icon_sad.gif

The thing you have to remember about the internet (I guess it apply to real life too) is that theres a lot of attention whores out there. A lot of people crave the attention they get when they make threats of self harm or harm to others. There really would of been no real way for people to know just how serious this guy was before it was to late.
It's still no excuse for people telling him to go through with it but at the end of the day thats how some people are. And most of use know the anonymity nature of the internet bring out this "quality"; and i use that turn very loosely, out 10 fold in some people.

There's a thread about this on another forum I visit. A pic was linked showing the dead guy on webcam and the chat going on while everyone was watching his body hanging.

I'm not gonna link it though. If you're old enough and interested enough, PM me.

I'm scared that this will happen more when C&C3 comes out. I can just imagine Ion Cannoning some American into suicide.

Seriously though, the guy obviously had trouble building up the courage to kill himself, and wanted to be insulted to push himself over the edge and motivate him to do it. He also wanted to make other people feel miserable, shocked and guilty for letting it happen. The guy sounded pretty nuts, and you have to wonder if a better mental health system could have prevented this and many other suicides.

I always feel sympathy when someone dies, even if it is only a tiny bit, but there are always alternatives to suicide, get counselling or something for God's sake.
Most of the time suicide is just an extreme form of attention seeking,
(ie emos) and doing it on the net is just stupid, so I don't feel anywhere near as much sympathy as if someone was murdered or something.

If it's something like the people fighting for euthanasia are trying to do, they have nothing left to live for due to medical, physical problem and they just want to move on I don't blame them and feel sad that they have lived their life to the fullest and just want to die.

I'm a naturally empathetic person, but I'm also very objective. I can see that he only killed himself the way he did for the infamy, and for the attention and guilt from the others in the room.
It is tragic that he wasn't treated, and that he felt compelled to take his own life.
I know myself I have seen the occasional American chainsaw himself on Gears, I don't know if it's the lag or the humiliation. Or trying to work out why the Brittish think that they're Austrian. It's always worse when they frag tag and take somebody else with them. icon_sad.gif

I believe the opposite. It's better than just committing suicide and having no audience. He has people all over the world talking about him now - an infamy of sorts. Too bad he's not around to witness it.

If you talked to someone who has had those thoughts, why they wanted to, where their head was at the time, etc., then you wouldn't be saying that.

Depression isn't because someone is sad, lonely or whatever. It's something that lives with people and eats them away. I'm not going to talk about personal experiences. I'm just going to say that this man should not be knocked, bagged, or ridiculed for his actions.

Respect -1 for some above people.

I'm not "knocking, bagging or ridiculing" I'm disagreeing. I do have a close relationship with someone who suffers depression, they didn't decide to take their own life, they chose to get help which is commendable.

It is my honest opinion that suicide is a gutless way out and I won't apologise (not that you asked) for thinking, or saying, this.

sure suicide is deffinately an option you wish people couldnt make but so many people assume that those who have taken it are gutless and those who ended up getting help are not, there are alot of factors which people miss out on which could have made the difference, as if he had any support emotionally had circumstances changed for the worst which pushed him that little further and did he actually have anyone to lean on when there was no one else to turn to?

and for people who automatically concider someone gutless without out regarding his situation and emotional state at the time are scum.

Lean on? Turn to? What the f@#k is this sh!t? Why do people have to burden others with their own problems? I go through each and every day without trying to get in any one else's way....as long as I can get done what I need to do without disrupting anyone else's life...that's my chosen course! People should learn to deal with their own problems....because after all those problems are THEIR OWN! It's not rocket science! Sure people need help every now and again.....but having to rely on sympathy or handouts from other people is a sign of weakness imo!

Also i've had a few cousins commit suicide in the last 3-5 years. One family had 2 sons commit suicide one after the other. The first son my auntie actually walked in on him hanging in the bathroom! Can you imagine what that would've been like for her? Her son!! What a loser, that's all I have to say about my cousins! How can you put your mum through something like that! Whatever is going on with your life or whatever your family has done....they don't deserve to be put through that! This loser had 2 kids....if that's not worth living for I don't know what is. A cop out loser f@#k....that's what I think!

I really agree. Like those idiots who stand on tha railway tracks, the driver who hits them will most likely be traumatised for life, all because of this other person's selfishness. If your that weak to commit suicide like that, don't take someone else with you. They're are still living and will have to live with that they killed you for life.

Yeah I agree that it's gutless to make a loved one walk in on you dangling from the rafters / in a pool of blood. And also Ugg a shoulder to lean on is exactly what it takes to prevent this from happening. I once thought I had 'weak character' for seeking help from professionals. Once you do get professional help it feels like a massive burden has been released, but it's only half the battle. The worst thing about depression is not knowing when to ask for help, and the people who ask for help can sometimes be bagged for being 'drama queens'. I'm just sick of the ignorance.

I'm also losing respect for a few of the people here. Do many of you people here know what it's like to be depressed all the time and not be able to do anything about it? I know many people that have attempted suicide, commited suicide and are on drugs and whatnot to prevent themselves from comiting suicide. It isn't as simple as having people there for you. I always have people there for me and all yet it doesn't stop me from getting depressed all the time for absolutely no reason. Sometimes it gets to the point where you don't believe that anyone cares for you. People say how they do this to their loved ones and the people that care for them but by the time they get to the point thwre they want to commit suicide alot of them don't believe that anyone cares and all they think of is everyone around them contrary to what alot of people believe. I'm lucky that I've never actually gone over the edge but I've come VERY close many a time.

So in short get all the facts, try and think about it from the persons point of view and realise that depression and suicide isn't about being a pussy and shit it's an actual sickness that alot of the time is caused by people not asking for help when they feel that way because everyone acts like this when they here this crap. "Oh you're depressed huh? You cut yourself huh? Well you're a f***ing stupid emo pussy! What the hell is wrong with you"

You're doing such a great job with the pep talk *thumbs up*. Depression is an illness which cannot be changed as easy as you think. Stop calling them an 'emo pussy'. Honestly man stop talking about subjects you clearly have no knowledge about, and your attitude is quite offensive.

"Trust me!" Lol. Although you're quite right about positive thinking, it's not a cure by any stretch of the imagination. Go talk to a psychologist and find out what you can and you're perceptions will change.

Otherwise Ugh why don't you join your flaming friends in the iRC chat where this guy suicided. Hopefully then you'll be have the opportunity to rid the earth of some 'emo pussies' yourself by egging them on.
