Suprised that this hasn't been posted as a thread before.
Anyway I was caught off guard by IGN having a review out already for the movie, with the US release date in March as well, which means we're hopefully too far away either.
As a fan of Miller's Sin City, this should be an interesting movie, and for those who know nothing about it, check out some of the trailers for it.
Hopefully I'll be able to experience this movie in Gold Class.

Im really looking forward to the movie, Sin City is one of the most unique and cool movies ive ever seen. Ive never read the novel but the story sounds awesome, we actually studied the Spartans vs the Persians in our final year of school. The battle of Thermopylae was so interesting to study. So it will be interesting to see how he sees and adapts it - im guessing its going to be gory though 
It will be interesting to see how Zack Snyder plays it out considering all hes really known for is Dawn of the Dead..

The slow motion trailer (which I see everywhere - online & in cinemas) puts me off a little but Sin City was good so I'll give it a chance.

Sin City was one of the greatest pieces of cinema in the last decade. Needless to say another Frank Miller story put to the big screen was inevitable.
This film just oozes God of War. I wonder if this was ever an inspiration for the game creators behind the game?

Anyone know if the Aussie edition is edited? I watched the "R" American trailer and I'm pretty sure some of those scenes wouldn't get past our censors... I'll be (hopefully) seeing this as well as Spartans are just cool.

I wouldn't worry about that. Americans are much more strict when it comes to ratings. What there rating is doesn't mean it will be here. It's MA here anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's R here too. They played the trailer before hot fuzz the other week and i remember it having the R rating before the trailer

Really looking forward to this movie (if I can get in). Hopefully it's not R because then I definitely won't be able to get in  . Does David Wenham have a big part in the movie or is it more of a big extras role?

His role is rather significant - not as big as some of the other actors though.
But it's always great to see good Australian actors getting solid roles in big movies like this.

I had a little look on the OFLC website and it seems it was rated R18+ but after a review it was made MA15+. I guess the trailers I saw just had the old rating at the start still

april 5 is the release date for australia, and thats the day im going to sydney, so im hoping to catvh it in IMAX which would totally own. iv read all 5 of the graphic novels, and they are so brilliant, and iv seen all the trailers aswell... i am so pumped about this movie its not funny. the GN of 300 is so awsome, the art work in it is truly amazing and they have made almost exact replica shots in the movie aswell, just like they did with sin city.
