I thought I would start a thread where people can post any questions they may have about the Nintendo Wii. This thread would save spamming this section of the forum with individual questions concerning the Wii.

Q. I'd like to know about the effectiveness of the silicon covers you can purchase for the Wii-mote?

A. I think they do a great job in stopping the controllers from slipping, i never play without my 'black' wii-mote now. They increase the size of the controllers ever soo slightly but you get used to it after awhile. The only downside to them imo is replacing the batteries, the silicon covers can be quite hard to get off, its almost as if they adhere to the wii-motes icon_biggrin.gif

And thank you Luke for making this a sticky thread icon_biggrin.gif

Also maybe a suggestion rod, once it gets answer, you mod your first post and put it at the top like this.

Q. I'd like to know about the effectiveness of the silicon covers you can purchase for the Wii-mote?

A. And so on.

if you are talking about the slot, it's when you get a message from nintendo or from a friend. it's to let you know that you have recieved a message since you last turned the console on.

Yes, it stays on until you turn the console on. If yours was off, but with the orange light showing, then it is in WiiConnect24 mode, which means it will recieve messages and Miis automatically.

Hi

I have to questions,

1. Has anyone else experienced any problems with Need For Speed Carbon? Mine seems to make funny clicking sounds when the DVD is in the drive?

2. Will the AV (Componet) cable make reading the text in NfSC easier? Its so small and pixelated it strains my eyes looking at it!

Thanks!

Q. Wi-Fi on my Wii seems to have 'stopped working' (in the loosest sense) and am using a Nintendo Dongle. One day it was working, a week later it wasn't. Deleted internet settings, and redid them, but now won't finish the connection test. It connects to the adaptor (full bars) and the internet flashes for a sec, but then the test stops and brings up error 54142 afair. Cannot find what this means anywhere, so I was hoping someone could help.

Edit: DS Wi-fi doesn't even work now.

Q. Is there any news on if or when there will be different coloured Wiis like the ones shown before release will be available?

A red one would look nice in my living room icon_biggrin.gif .

@canetoad: the red one looked alright, but the black one was more appealing to me, and no word has really been said about the birth of those colours (unless i missed something icon_confused.gif)

www.DecalGirl.com has some sweet Wii skins, to cover up the whiteness. I'm gonna get the retro (Nes) one down the track, along with the DS Lite skin (when i decide to upgrade from my Heavee of course).
