Probably not a good idea as it voids your warranty. Black is probably a really bad colour for a 360 as it does like to absorb heat and all....

It wont heat anything up any more. That applies to things in direct sunlight.
It is safe to get the kit. But you will also need the tool to open the 360 (i have one right here LOL) They are like $12. And there are much higher quality cases, as this one looks painted.
I think divineo.com has some.

the warranty runs out on thursday if you bought a launch console, so go for it.

hey can you still buy warrantys from MS for $100 or so for a year?? Someone said you can but i cant see where to purchase them on the xbox.com.au page.

I've seeen some videos on youtube on how to open your Xbox 360 and make your own tools to open the thing but have to say that it looks way too fiddly for my liking.
Shame because sometime down the track I wouldn't mind getting the full chrome case for it. _________________

Yeah you can cut plastic to open it, but it is way easier to buy the Tool.
And yeah i am seriousl thinking of cutting my 360, and adding plastic. It just looks soo dam cool. _________________ Samsung 32" LCD
