PS2 isn't my preferred console either but this absolutely nails it.
You can tell someone has just poured their soul into it.

OMG a flood of games on PS2 - Okami, FFXII and Rogue Galaxy all at once. There aren't enough hours on the day or dollars in the bank.
Once again, can anyone tell me if Okami has widescreen and/or progressive scan support? _________________

No, and no. Unfortunate about the wide-screen but I have never had a PS2 game with proscan in my life... FFXII has widescreen but its... well... fake.
And how is Rogue Galaxy "all at once" when it comes out like three months from now? _________________

Oh really - PAL Rogue Galaxy is still a ways off. Oh well that's good.
PAL RE4 has proscan. _________________

Guitar Hero 2 has Progressive scan! There's a list somewhere, most of the time you have to hold triangle+X on startup. _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

Okami does have an "LCD mode" which nobody on earth seems to agree on the use of. I turn it on, I turn it off, and nothing looks a single bit different and I'm actually using an LCD TV. So who knows >_> _________________

Well I finally have the game, I've finally put some time into it and what are my initial impressions?
This game is fracking gorgeous. I avoided video footage of the game so that my first time seeing the art style in motion would be special, and it was exactly that. I can't believe how damn good it looks and how the art direction just 'works'. It's fantastic.
So far the game itself has been quite fun too, although I'm not too far. (in the village still) The Celestial Brush is awesome, Ammy is awesome, the art is awesome, the music is awesome.
I am in love and I've only played it once so far! This adventure is going to blow me away, I just know it. _________________

Played an hour so far. LOVE looking at it, playing it, experiencing it.
People who want to talk about it, remember spoiler tags will save you from a banning.

Mine turned up at lunchtime today. Just had to make time to spin it up and get to the first save point....20 minutes of opening scene setup...but it was all good.
I was a bit puzzled by the LCD option too...nothing in the manual...looks bugger all different from normal for me using the component cable to a plasma TV...
I'll be playing this tonight till the wee hours tonight I reckon (after Smallville and the daughter has gone to bed )

I was really enjoying the game, while sitting with my boyfriend, but he is a big fan of FFXII so he made me play that instead. I was rather annoyed but i'm a huge FF series fan so in a way i didn't mind. How far is everyone through Okami?

^ Roughly 16 hours or so into the game personally and yes, it is still as awesome as it was when I first started it. I really love this game, although my playtime wouldn't suggest that would it?

I sold this game. I just couldn't get into the story, and the gameplay was boring and repetitive. On top of that it gave me a headache after 15 minutes of playtime and progressively got worse as I kept playing. Oh well, I guess our destinies were not together, Okami my love.

I am juggling this with FFXII and FFXII is winning with 20 hrs while this is 5 hrs. Why did they have 2 come out round the same time

Went past a couple of dying trees this morning and my first thought was, I could draw a circle around them and bring them back to life! This game has seeped into my brain.

What is this 'sea' that you speak of? Like Canberra, it doesn't exist around these parts. _________________

Please, don't encourage me... I could go on and on and before you know it, this thread will be locked up tight. I don't want that on my conscience...
