Great stuff. Just finished watching the Oscars. Good to see a foreign fantasy movie get all this love. _________________

Well, in any case it should be on DVD within four months.

That reminds me, I've still got to try to find myself a Pan's Labyrinth poster...
As for the DVDs, Why did they have to go and do that... expensive and ugly. I'll wait and see what the UK release looks like. _________________

Watched the film today. It wasn't what I was expecting, which made it all the much better. I like. _________________

Hmm, I don't know if that's just a place holder image or the actual art. At least the price is somewhat reasonable. _________________

Amazon UK charges $33.77 AUD including shipping. Which is ever-so slightly cheaper than WOW and I would rather use Amazon over them (not to be confused with WOW - Sight and Sound).

Just saw this movie and like the vast majority i absolutely loved it. I agree that there could have been a little more attention paid to the fantasy elements of the story, (as opposed to the war), but all in all it was a really good mix of the two. The acting was what really surprised me and all of the characters were brilliantly acted. The faun was a great design and that freak in the room with the banquet will give me nightmares for months. _________________

Sin City was stylised, this graphically depicts a man being beaten about the head with a glass bottle in a lengthy scene. Then there's the scene showing a man's face get slashed apart. Nothing in Sin City is as graphically violent as that.
Note to people under the age of 18: watching something violent and then saying "omg that wasn't bad!" does not make you appear mature. _________________

^ Agreed. The bottle scene was outrageuosly graphic as you could just see his face totally cave in. Also that scene where she cut the captains mouth was nasty, but even worse was having to watch him stitch himself up. Sin City had nothing of that nature. It all just seemed like the violence of video games, unrealistic. _________________

For the Love of Jerusalem,
if anyone who has the region 4 dvd of Pan's Labyrinth could help me find the episode of the 'Charlie Rose Show' (which is listed on the back of the boz as a special feature) I would much appreciate it...I can't seem to find it on the disc...
...is this an error?

I wasn't trying to be "mature", that bottle scene was actually shocking, when I saw it I wasn't expeting it, it made it worse that the father was there. My mouth hurt when she got that knife into his mouth. Maybe I need to watch it again... _________________

So why do you claim Sin City was worse? _________________

Man Sin City barely had any violence from what i remember. All it had was a tiny bit of nudity and a very small amount of violence which didnt seem real.

I can't answer your question mate but I will say that I've seen a few other people who were disappointed in picking up the r4 hopscotch release.

Sin City had a lot of violence, i distinctly remember wondering how it was able to get away with only an MA rating when i first saw it, but it's not realistic violence, regardless of how exaggerated it was.
Pan's Labyrinth though, much less violence on the whole, but the realism, and impact the those scenes had contributed to the rating. _________________
