Totally crap. Nintendo need to pull their finger out, because this is a joke.

I'm sure they stated sometime earlier that Friend codes would be universal... Broken promises much? They sure do have some backwards thinking folk down there in Nintendoland...

Is it going to take yet another generation before they start taking online functionality seriously? Bu..bu...bu..but the stalking and the predators so on and so forth.. icon_rolleyes.gif

In the end, I don't really see any game I'd be wanting to take online with the Wii anyway, so it a definitive 'meh' from me.

*hugs Xbox360*

WHY! Damn Nintendo, such a pain. Why can't they just do this right, instead of acting like kids towards Online. Haven't they seen the way that Microsoft and Sony are doing it or something?

Ummm, Sony's online system is average at best too remember. You cannot even see your friend's list from inside a game.

It still beats Friend Codes though.

Hmm, sounds bad, if only for the negative publicity.

But the source is just some random blog, and there aren't many details. maybe games will have access to your Wii's Address book, so 'building a list' will just involve a few clicks?

Not defending it if it's true, but should probably wait for a better source and more details first.

Just, Nintendo has matchmaking abilities remember. I don't think Sony has implemented anything like this yet.

Yeah true, good point. If that is the case, cool. I seriously can't see any reason, technical or logical. It's prue insanity considering you have a address book!!!

Yeah, like others have said, he says 'friend list' not 'friend code'. There is a difference. Although it doesn't look promising, it isn't set in stone that the Wii will use title-specific friend codes.
